Row/column filter properties

List of row/column filters

The row/column filters are listed below.

Element Description
Reference FX rates This allows the user to define a different FX rate from that which is specified in the table, i.e. whether it needs to be read from a scenario or period other than those of the data to be converted. See Details of Reference FX rate properties.
FX rate Allows the user to view the entity or transaction amounts in a different currency. See Details of FX rate properties.
Sign change This allows the user to change the sign in which the account is displayed. If the sign of a filter included in a formula changes, the formula will automatically account for the sign change.
Periodic value calculation Allows the user to specify the calculation method for the periodic value. The calculation method varies depending on the reporting engine used (see Form options window).
Complementary This allows the user to exclude a specific filter or node from a node of filters in a hierarchy. Thus, the system displays the entire hierarchy of the filter’s parent node or excluded node, except for the specific filter or node. Note: the additional filter is identified by the prefix and works on hierarchies but not groupings.
Comparison condition It allows the user to define a condition for comparison, or an operator and a value with which to compare the filter value. To specify an individual element of the filter to be compared, use the operator "=". To exclude one of them, use the operator "<>". For example: with operator "=" and value “INPUT_DEFORM" on an Origin type filter, the user can obtain the sum of all the figures with origin "INPUT_DEFORM”.
Data Validation Only with validation queries set in the form. Associates a validation query with the selected element to limit the user’s choice to a restricted set of elements. Note: in the presence of Dictionary and Validation Query insisting on the same textual measure, the drop-down shows all values in the validation query as a suggestion; if data validation is active, only those values belonging to the Dictionary are saved. An exception is made if the 'Out of dictionary values allowed' flag has been enabled on the measure.
Size Indicates the dimension to which the selected element belongs. Non-editable property.
Advanced selection This allows the user to define a set of elements that the system must dynamically recover when running the form. For more details, see Dynamic matrices.
Dictionary Allows the user to associate dictionary items in the languages enabled in the environment with rows. When the form is run, instead of the description, the sheet name shows the dictionary item translated into the user’s language. For more details, see Dictionaries.
Editability Allows you to define row/column editability. For more details, see Cell editability.
Validation check Allows you to define accuracy checks on data entered via the Validation Checks Wizard. For more details, see Validations.
Conditional editability expression Allows you to subject the editability set on the row/column to one or several conditions that depend on the content of other rows/columns of the current matrix. For more details, see Validations.
Division factor Allows you to calculate the average of a value at a certain date, according to the following calculation methods. - day: the average is calculated on the basis of the number of days from the start of the year to the specific month, e.g. 180 days from January to June. - period: the average is calculated on the basis of the number of days in the specific month, e.g. 30 days for June. Note: this functionality is not supported for matrices designed on Analytical Workspace.
Tagetik style Allows you to define a style for the selected row/column filter. See Tagetik style property details.
Formula Allows you to define elements calculated as formulas on the row/column. For more details, see Formula filters.
Hyperlink Allows you to define links between forms. For more details, see Hyperlinks.
Multi-selection Property only available from the web interface on row/column filters with counter dimension in transactional matrices of the Analytical Workspaces. Allows you to see check boxes for multiple selection, in Navigation and Data Entry and for every row/column.
Less Allows you to hide rows/columns when the form is run. In particular, it allows you to: - create specific layouts for each output sheet - create useful rows/columns linked to matrix formulas - hide superfluous rows/columns in specific contexts in which the form is used Note: in data entry, rows/columns cannot be hidden if they contain at least one editable cell.
Segment Allows you to view intercompany data of the entities of a chosen node of entities, called a segment. This property’s default value is defined in advanced form settings (see Settings window) and is used on all the row/column filters on which the segment is set on entity dimensions, custom dimension 2 or the counterparty entity. This value can be overridden during design or when editing the matrix from the properties table. Note: matrices designed on Analytical Workspace do not support this property.
Data type Allows the user to define the row/column data type (string, date, numerical, etc.) to optimise how it is displayed in the run form phase.
Prevailing data type Allows the user to choose, for an individual cell, a different data type from the one defined for the row/column.
Navigation Only visible if a parametric filter on the Scenario dimension has been selected. Allows the user to set criteria for navigating between scenarios (previous, next and reference). For more details, see Navigating scenario parameters.
Period Difference Only visible if a parametric filter on the Period dimension has been selected. Allows the user to set criteria for navigating between periods. For more details, see Navigating period parameters.
