Structure of the data in the forms and filters

Introduction

In CCH Tagetik, the global definition of the data managed by the form depends on the setting of filters on specific data for different levels of the form’s structure.

Level	Description
Form	Data handled at the global level in the form
Sheet	Data handled at the template level
Matrix	Data handled and viewed in a specific area of the sheet
Row/column	Data handled and viewed in the rows/columns of the matrix

Applying filters therefore means limiting the data handled in the form, the sheet and the matrix to certain dimensions and categories. When a filter is applied to one of the form’s structure levels, it has a domino effect on the levels below.

It is in any case possible to override the exclusion of a filter from a level of the structure of the form that inherited it. For more details, see Overrides.

Saving the Point of View (POV)

Once the run filters have been set and a form has been run, it is possible to save the run settings used via the Save Point of View function (). In this way, the filters will be set automatically when the form is run. The filter settings window is no longer shown if the POV contains all the filters required by the form.

Note: in data entry mode, this function also allows you to save the form code so it can be reopened automatically, always in data entry mode, when next accessed.

Filter settings can be changed and a different POV can be saved, or a POV can be deleted, using the Delete Point of View function (). See Parameters window.
