Configure the add-in for Excel
Install the add-in
This procedure allows you to download, install and connect the Excel add-in.
- To start the download, on the CCH Tagetik Home page, click the user name, then select Download, then Excel .NET client.
- To install the add-in, open the .ZIP file, extract the contents to a folder, double click the .EXE file and run the guided installation procedure.
- Open Excel and click the CCH Tagetik tab: the Options window will open.
- In the Connection tab, select a connection from the list on the left, or click
to create a new one. - If a new one is created, type the address of the connection to the desired server in Web Server.
- Click
to set the selected connection as the current connection. - Click
to save the connection.
Configure a new connection to the server

- In the Connection tab, click
and assign a name to the connection. - In Web Server, type the address or the connection to the desired server.
- (Optional) Click
to set the selected connection as the current connection. - Click
to save the connection.
Edit a connection to the server

- In the Connection tab, click the desired connection, then click
. - Edit the URL as desired.
- (Optional) Click
to set the selected connection as the current connection. - Click
to save the changes.
Configure local reporting parameters

- In the Local settings tab, click
to activate the fields. - To view any available updates when authenticating the add-in, click Enable Update Add-in automatically.
- (Optional) Enter the desired file paths in Temporary folder and User settings folder in which to save the add-in’s temporary working files and configuration files.
- To enable the automatic deletion of temporary files, click Enable Delete temporary files and specify a number of days.
- If necessary, enable the new communication mechanism . Note: In the case of single sign-on to Tagetik, using the Chronium-based communication mechanism, access by entering a user name and password is supported. Automatic access without providing credentials is not supported.
- If necessary, enable the cache and enter a file path to save the files.
- Click
to save the changes.
Access reporting functions in Excel
Excel > CCH® Tagetik >
Login
Enter the user name and password used to access CCH Tagetik and click Sign in.
Note: if the system detects available updates for the add-in on authentication, the update will be requested. The user name and password must be entered again once the update is finished.
