Managing formulas
Insert a formula on all cells in a row/column
This procedure shows you how to insert a formula on a whole row/column from a matrix cell.
- To select the cell:
| If you want to copy the formula... | Then... |
|---|---|
| on the row | select the cell of the first column relative to the row |
| on the column | select the cell of the first row relative to the column |
- Insert the desired formula in the cell in accordance with Excel syntax.
- Press ENTER: the formula will be propagated over the whole row/column.
In the matrix, the system automatically converts Excel syntax into CCH Tagetik syntax.

When inserting elements in braces, make sure you edit them in or click on the {} button at the top-right, otherwise the number will be considered a pure number, not an element of the matrix.

To insert the elements involved in the formula, position the cursor in the Reporting Client Formula window and right click; a list will appear showing all the rows/columns of the matrix in which to select the desired element. This prevents errors and allows you to write the formula quicker.
