Managing formulas

Insert a formula on all cells in a row/column

This procedure shows you how to insert a formula on a whole row/column from a matrix cell.

  1. To select the cell:
If you want to copy the formula... Then...
on the row select the cell of the first column relative to the row
on the column select the cell of the first row relative to the column
  1. Insert the desired formula in the cell in accordance with Excel syntax.
  2. Press ENTER: the formula will be propagated over the whole row/column.

In the matrix, the system automatically converts Excel syntax into CCH Tagetik syntax.

When inserting elements in braces, make sure you edit them in or click on the {} button at the top-right, otherwise the number will be considered a pure number, not an element of the matrix.

To insert the elements involved in the formula, position the cursor in the Reporting Client Formula window and right click; a list will appear showing all the rows/columns of the matrix in which to select the desired element. This prevents errors and allows you to write the formula quicker.
