Creation of control groups to generate result accounts
Introduction¶
This section provides a detailed description of the process that the system runs to create the control groups necessary to generate the result accounts.
Process to create control groups¶
This process involves the following main steps:
- Cancellation of the accounts that make up the definition of the system control groups, if these already exist.
- Creation of the following control groups, if not already present:
- $RESULT
- $PL
- $BS
- $RESFLOW
- The control groups generated are linked to the nodes of the control group grouping defined by default for new control groups.
- Deployment.
Creation of the $RESULT control group¶
If both the P&L result and the balance sheet result are defined in the set of result accounts, the system will create a balancing control group with a “=” control operator, with the following characteristics:
| Element | Value |
|---|---|
| Code | $RESULT + code for set of result accounts |
| Description | Balancing result + result accounts |
| Notes | Balancing result + description of result accounts |
| Blocking error | The balancing between accounts belonging to the control group is blocking for data submission. |
| Diagnostic | (Journals - Check by single company option) Carried out by journal number/company on the consolidation journals. (Gross amount type check) Carried out on gross amounts. |
| Balancing | During the diagnostic phase: on the gross amounts in the financial statement currency. |
| Custom dimensions | - Check lowest level elements: if the balance sheet result account is restricted for the dimension Based on Company. - Total: in the other cases. |
Once the control group has been created, it inserts the P&L result account present in the set as the parent account and the balance sheet result account as the child account, with the opposite sign.
Creation of the $PL control group¶
If the P&L result is defined in the set of result accounts, the system will create a balancing control group with a “=” control operator, with the following characteristics:
| Element | Value |
|---|---|
| Code | $PL + code for set of result accounts |
| Description | P&L balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Notes | P&L balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Blocking error | The balancing between accounts belonging to the control group is blocking for data submission. |
| Diagnostic | (Journals - Check by single company option) Carried out by journal number/company on the consolidation journals. (Gross amount type check) Carried out on gross amounts. |
| Balancing | (Enable automatic balancing) Automatic During the diagnostic phase: on gross amounts in financial statement currency. |
| Custom dimensions | - Check lowest level elements: if the P&L result account is restricted for the dimension Based on Company. - Total: in the other cases. |
Once the control group has been created, it inserts the P&L result account present in the set as the parent account and the accounts of the “PL_OT - Profit & Loss - Others” node from the system account hierarchy as child accounts, with the opposite sign.
Furthermore, if the P&L balancing account is set up in the set, the system will insert it as a child account (with the opposite sign), allocating to it any unbalanced amounts due to rounding for currency conversion or for changes in unit measures between the parent accounts and child accounts.
Creation of the $BS control group¶
If the balance sheet result is defined in the set of result accounts, the system will create a balancing control group with a “=” control operator with the following characteristics:
| Element | Value |
|---|---|
| Code | $BS + code for set of result accounts |
| Description | BS balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Notes | BS balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Blocking error | The balancing between accounts belonging to the control group is blocking for data submission. |
| Diagnostic | (Gross amount type check) Carried out on gross amounts. |
| Balancing | (Enable automatic balancing) Automatic During the diagnostic phase: on gross amounts in financial statement currency. |
Once the control group has been created, it inserts the balance sheet result account present in the set as the parent account and the accounts of the “BS_OT - Balance Sheet - Others” node from the system account hierarchy as child accounts, with the opposite sign.
Furthermore, if the balance sheet balancing account is set-up in the set, the system will insert it as a child account (with the opposite sign), allocating to it any unbalanced amounts due to rounding for currency conversion or for changes in unit measures between the parent accounts and child accounts.
Creation of the $RESFLOW control group¶
If the balance sheet result accounts and the balance sheet result variation are defined in the set of result accounts, the system will create a balancing control group with a “=” control operator, with the following characteristics:
| Element | Value |
|---|---|
| Code | $RESFLOW + code for set of result accounts |
| Description | Result variation balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Notes | Result variation balancing + description of set of result accounts |
| Blocking error | The balancing between accounts belonging to the control group is blocking for data submission. |
| Diagnostic | (Journals - Check by single company option) Carried out by journal number/company on consolidation journals. |
Once the control group has been created, it inserts the balance sheet result account present in the set as the parent account and the balance sheet result variation account as the child account.
