How to delete an account

Dimensions > Account > List

IMPORTANT: This procedure is irreversible. Only run if there is a real need to do so.

  1. In the account elements table, select the account to delete, then click : in the Info column, the symbol will appear, indicating that the account is about to be deleted.
  2. Click Save: a window will open explaining the consequences of the deletion.
  3. Select the desired options, then click Confirm: the account will be deleted.

IMPORTANT: this operation may take a long time, as the account has to be removed from all the tables within Tagetik.

How to recode an account

Dimensions > Account > List

This is useful for changing account codes individually. This is a time-consuming procedure and is therefore only recommended for changing a limited number of codes at a time.

To make massive updates, use the Standard import function and work on the Recoding page.

  1. In the account elements table, select the account whose code needs to be changed.
  2. Select > Recode: the Recode - Code Dimension page will open.
  3. Click : an empty row will be added.
  4. In the Attributes tab, under Code, select the code to be replaced.
  5. Under New Code, insert the new code to be assigned to the account.

IMPORTANT: the new code must not already be used in Tagetik. 6. Select Primary if the code inserted must prevail in case of any conflict. 7. Click Save to save the new code. 8. Repeat from step 3 in order to change other codes. 9. Click Run to recode all the new codes saved.

Note: this operation may take several minutes.

How to define custom dimension restrictions for an account

Dimensions > Account > List

This is useful for excluding data from specific custom dimensions from being collected.

  1. In the account elements table, select the account for which to create restrictions.
  2. In the Restrictions tab, set the desired type of restriction for each custom dimension shown.
  3. Click Save: for custom dimensions for which a restriction has been set, the Define command will be displayed together with the symbol, indicating that there are elements for which the account is to be restricted.
  4. Click Define: the specific page will open allowing you to define the restrictions.
  5. Click to add an element.
  6. In the Attributes tab, set whether to include or exclude the element, and select the single custom dimension elements or nodes of a non-time-dependent hierarchy defined for the custom dimension.
  7. To enable a hierarchy node, but exclude an element from it, you must first set the node and then the exception on the next line.

IMPORTANT: The system implements restrictions based on the order in which they are inserted in the definition window. If two restrictions are in conflict, the one implemented last in the sequence will prevail.

  1. Click Save.
  2. To view a list of all the selected elements, click Definition result.

How to inherit settings from another account

Dimensions > Account > List

  1. In the account elements table, select the account to be defined and then click > Relate as similar account: the relationship window will open.
  2. In Reference Account, select the account from which to inherit the settings: all of the characteristics for that account that may be inherited will be displayed.
  3. Select the characteristics to be inherited, then click Run: the account selected in the elements table will inherit all of the selected characteristics.

How to generate a report with the characteristics of an account

Dimensions > Account > List

This is useful for creating reports in Excel format that contain specific attributes extracted from the accounts.

  1. In the accounts list, select > Report: a window will appear allowing you to set the parameters for generating the report.
  2. In the Input filters section, select the characteristics of the accounts to be included in the report.
  3. In the Output section, define how to break down and group the accounts in the report. For each type of output selected, a dedicated tab will be created in the report.
  4. Click OK: the requested report will be generated in Excel format.

How to generate a report on account restrictions

Dimensions > Account > List

It is possible to create reports in Excel format containing information about specific custom dimensions managed for the entities listed. To define the data to be included in the report, follow the below procedure:

  1. Select > Restrictions on custom dimensions report: a window will appear allowing you to set the parameters for generating the report.
  2. In the Input filters section, select the filters to define the accounts that will be included in the report.
  3. In the Output section, define how to break down and group the information in the report. For each type of output selected, a dedicated tab will be created in the report.
  4. Click OK: the requested report will be generated in Excel format.

How to define the characteristics of the account dimension

Dimensions > Account > > Settings

Set the characteristics of the account dimension, and then click OK.
