Introduction¶
The design toolbar is shown when a form has been opened from the Design tab in the worksheet.
Buttons on the Design toolbar¶

| Form filters: opens a window to set the filters to be applied to all templates included in the selected form. See Form filters window. | |
| Tab filters: opens a window to set the filters to be applied to the selected template. See Tab filters window. | |
| Matrix: runs the Matrix Wizard to create a matrix based on the cell selected in the work desktop. See Matrix Wizard - Window structure. | |
| Query opens the Query Wizard to define an SQL query in the selected cell in the work desktop. See Query Wizard window. | |
| Cell field: opens the Cell fields wizard to create a cell field in the selected cell in the work desktop. See Cell Fields Wizard. | |
| Dictionary item: opens the Dictionary item window to create a dictionary item in the selected cell in the work desktop. See Dictionary Items window. | |
| Data processing: allows you to link data processing to the form and set parameters for it. See Setup & Admin - Data Processing window. | |
| Hyperlink: opens the Action List Wizard to create a hyperlink in the selected cell in the work desktop. See Action List Wizard window. | |
| Report list: opens the Report List Wizard to manage Report lists. See Report List Wizard window. | |
| Validation: opens the Validation window to define a validation expression in the selected cell in the work desktop. See Validations window. | |
| Slicer: opens a window to define a slicer in the selected cell in the work desktop. See New Slicer window. | |
| Index: opens the Report List Wizard to insert an index of the sheets in the current form. Useful for Report lists which publish the result on a single file and for all forms containing more than one template. See Report List Wizard window. | |
| Overrides | |
| Editable cells preview: highlights cells on which editability rules have been set. The cell’s colour depends on the editability rule set on it. For more details on colour allocation, see Layout options details. | |
| Override content: overrides the content of an element of the matrix with the value entered by the user in the selected cell. See The Override content on cells function. | |
| Override editability: changes the editability of the cell of the selected matrix in the work sheet. For more details on the available options, see Editability. | |
| Parameters | |
| Definition: opens the Parameters Definition window. See Parameters Definition window. | |
| Management: opens the Parameters Configuration window. See Parameters Configuration window. | |
| Miscellaneous | |
| Cell properties: in the left-hand panel, opens the Cell properties tab showing information on the selected cell and filters in place. | |
| Form options: opens the Form options window to define the form’s graphical and functional properties. See Form options window. | |
| Export as an ad hoc form: exports the current form as an ad hoc form, in a folder chosen by the user. | |
| Structure check: checks that the form’s structure is correct. | |
| List of filters used: opens the List of filters used window showing a list of the form’s filters, templates and matrices. | |
| Save a copy in the table: only available in the design phase for ad hoc forms. Save a copy of the current form in the table. | |
| Run | |
| > | Run: generates a preview of the form in navigation mode. |
| > | Partial run: only available for Report lists. Runs and updates the data for some of the Report list’s form only. |
| > | Print Filters: generates a preview of the form, highlighting cells containing specific filters requested by the user. |
| > | Run Web preview: only for forms available as web forms. Generates a preview of the form on the web interface and activates navigation mode. |
| > | Run pivot preview: generates a preview of the form, displaying the content in the form of a pivot table. See Pivot tables. |
| Dashboard | |
| Definition: only available for forms with the Enable dashboard option active. Opens a window to define a dashboard based on the data present in the form template matrices. See Define Dashboard window. |
