Create a dictionary item outside of a matrix

For every managed language, enter the desired text then click OK.

Note: when the dictionary item is created outside of the matrix, to view the dictionary item in a cell of the form, select the cell before clicking .

Create a dictionary item within a matrix

  1. Select the element on which to set the description or override the header.
  2. In the properties table, click next to Dictionary: the Dictionary item window will open.
  3. For every managed language, enter the desired text then click OK: the language set is shown in bold.

Delete a dictionary item

In the left-hand panel, select the dictionary item to be deleted, then click or select the item to be deleted, right click and select Dictionary items> Remove dictionary item.

Alternatively, click the cell containing the item to be deleted, right click Tagetik > Delete dictionary item.

Edit a dictionary item

Select the item to be edited then right click and select Dictionary items > Edit dictionary item.

Alternatively, click the cell containing the desired item, right click Tagetik > Insert/Edit dictionary item.

Create shared dictionary items

  1. From the Dictionary item window, click : the Shared dictionary window will appear showing a list of the dictionary items that have already been shared.
  2. To add a new item, click .
  3. Enter a code and a description for the dictionary item.
  4. Insert the translations in the system languages.
  5. Click OK.

Note: to view the shared dictionary item in a cell of the form, select the cell before clicking .

Create shared dictionary items within a matrix

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Design > open form > open or create matrix > Row/column filters

  1. Select the element on which to set the description or override the header.
  2. In the properties table, click next to Dictionary: the Dictionary item window will open.
  3. Click : the Shared dictionary window will appear showing a list of the dictionary items that have already been shared.
  4. To add a new item, click .
  5. Enter a code and a description for the dictionary item.
  6. Insert the translations in the system languages.
  7. Click OK.
