Pivot tables allow you to simplify and more effectively analyse the data present in a form. The functionality can be used in Navigation mode or Data Entry mode.

Characteristics of the tables

The pivot table's input data are data from the dimensions present on the row, column and tab filters. The table is subdivided into the following areas:

  • rows
  • columns
  • data (table content)
  • dimensions not used on the rows and columns.

The dimensions for which a single filter is present are excluded from the table.

The pivot table is positioned in a new work sheet, showing the List of fields to allow you to further rearrange the data, adapting it to your own needs using the Pivot table tools toolbar.

When opened, the table shows the dimensions present on the matrix rows in the rows area and the dimensions present on the matrix columns in the columns area. Any tab filters are aggregated.

The display layout can be modified by dragging the dimensions present on rows, columns, data areas and filter areas. This provides several types of views of the data. For example, rows and columns can be inverted or data can be aggregated differently, but the values of the cells in the data area cannot be edited.
