Add a Table to the Document
Word Add-in > CCH® Tagetik Disclosureribbon bar > Objects > New
This procedure allows a table whose area has been defined in a Form of CCH Tagetik or in an external source (Excel file) to be added to the document.
- Open the document in edit mode
- Place the cursor in the section of the document where you wish to insert the object
- Click on New: the New object window will pop up
Adding a Table from Form Tagetik Software S.r.l.
To add a table to the document whose area has been defined in a Form of CCH Tagetik:
In the General tab:
- Enter the Name of the object
- Click on the Object Type dropdown and select Table
- Insert additional information if necessary
- Click Next to go to the next tab
In the Source tab :
- Click CCH Tagetik
- Select the Application Database from those available in the drop-down menu. The databases that can be selected are those associated with the user who logged in. If an object has already been added to the document, the system displays the previously selected database as the default value.
Note: the Copy Configuration button can be used to paste the matrix configurations copied from the Excel addin using the Copy Area/Chart utility.
- Click on the three dots to navigate the form tree and select the desired form or type the first three characters of the form to be searched (code or description) into the search bar to make a quick selection
Note: Search functionality is supported from version 5.3.29.0 onwards.
- Select a Sheet from those defined for the Form
- Select the Area from those defined for the Form
Note: If the selected form has no sheet/area defined, the system displays a message 'No sheet/area available'.
- Click Next to go to the next tab
In the Parameters tab:
- Click on the three dots for each mandatory parameter (*): this opens the panel allowing parameter selection
Note: If the selected form has no parameters, the system displays the message 'There are no parameters for this form' and the user can move on to the next form.
- Select a hierarchy/grouping for the dimension to which the parameter refers
- Select in the dimension tree a single element/node, or several elements/nodes (multi-selection is possible)
- Click on Confirm to add the selected items and return to the Parameters tab
- Click Next to go to the next tab or Previous to return to previous tabs
IMPORTANT. If a value has been selected in the document for the dimension to be defined, the Inherit from parent document toggle is switched on and the dimension value selected in the parent document is shown as the default value. The user may decide not to inherit the value from the parent document by turning off the toggle and selecting a new value.
Note. If the inherited parameter is the Scenario dimension and only one value is selected for this parameter in the document from which it is inherited, then it will be possible to select aReference Scenario from those available (see Reference Scenario). To do so, click on Show Options, below the value of the inherited Scenario.
In the Advanced tab:
- Choose Document root to format Number, Percentage and Date values with the formats defined in the document root
- Choose Source (default) to keep the format of Numbers, Percentages and Dates defined on the source
- Click Insert to add the table to the document, or
- Click on Previous to return to previous tabs.
Adding a Table from Form as an Image
To add a table in the document whose area has been defined in a Form of CCH Tagetik as an image:
In the General tab:
- Enter the Name of the object
- Click on the Object Type dropdown and select Table
- Insert additional information if necessary
- Click Next to go to the next tab
In the Source tab :
- Click CCH Tagetik
- Select the application database from those available in the drop-down menu. The databases that can be selected are those associated with the user who logged in.
Note: If an object has already been added to the document, the system displays the previously selected database as the default value.
- Click the Action button to select the Form
- Select a Sheet from those defined for the Form
- Select the Area from those defined for the Form
Note: If the selected form has no sheet/area defined, the system displays a message 'No sheet/area available'.
- Click on Insert as image
- Inherit the Format and Resolution values defined in the document root, or
- Turn off the Inherit Format toggle
- Select an Image Format from: JPEG, PNG, SVG, EMF or TIFF ("SVG, TIFF, and EMF image formats are only supported by the Desktop application)
- Select an Image Resolution from: Low Resolution (150 ppi), Standard Resolution (300 ppi) or High Resolution (600 ppi) if a JPEG or PNG type format was selected as the image format

IMPORTANT To maintain the style used in the image objects each time the document is updated, Tagetik Software S.r.l. has made available an extensive list of the most commonly used fonts. If you wish to use customised or licensed fonts that are not among those available, you can request their addition by following the procedure How to request the addition of fonts not available in the Application Server (Cloud users only).

Adding a Table from Excel
To add a table whose area has been defined in an Excel file to the document:

- Click on Microsoft Excel
- Select the desired external source Excel file residing on the SharePoint by navigating the menu File
- Select the desired sheet from the Sheet menu options
- Select the desired area from the Area menu options
- Note: If the selected file has no sheet/area defined, the system displays a message"No sheet/area available".
- Click Next to go to the next tab or Previous to return to previous tabs
In the Advanced tab:

Add a Table from Excel as an Image
