Adding a Dimension Attribute to the Document

Word Add-in > CCH® Tagetik Disclosure Ribbon bar > Objects > New

This procedure allows an attribute, i.e. a textual expression from the CCH Tagetik database (e.g. code, company name, etc.) to be added to the document.

  1. Open the document in edit mode
  2. Place the cursor in the section of the document where you wish to insert the object
  3. Click on New: the New object window will pop up

In the General tab:

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Attribute Dimension
  3. Insert additional information if necessary
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Source tab:

  1. Select the Application Database from those available in the drop-down menu. The databases that can be selected are those associated with the user who logged in.

Note: If an object has already been added to the document, the system displays the previously selected database as the default value.

  1. Select the dimension from those available in the drop-down menu or type the first three characters of the dimension to be searched for (code or description) into the search bar to make a quick selection

Note: The Search functionality is supported by version 5.3.29.0 and later.

  1. Select the Attribute from those available for the chosen dimension
  2. Click Insert to add the attribute to the document, or
  3. Click Previous to return to previous tab

IMPORTANT: Scenario and Period must be selected for the Currency dimension to enter the attributes Average Fx rate, Final FX rate, Period FX rate.

IMPORTANT: It is not possible to nest updatable objects. For example, if an attempt is made to insert a Dimension Attribute object type within a Table or Rich Text object , the operation will be prevented and the user will be notified of the failed entry.
