Adding an object to the document

This page describes how to add an object to the document. The types of objects that can be added in the document are:

  • Checkbox
  • Free text
  • Dropdown
  • Attribute dimension
  • Amount
  • Table
  • Chart

Sequence of procedures to add an object to the document

  1. Define Object Source (only for objects reading from Tagetik database or Excel file)

Word Add-in > CCH TagetikRibbon bar > Objects > New > Source

  1. Specify the source from which to retrieve numerical data from Tagetik's database and/or attached files
  2. Specify all the information required to retrieve the numerical data to be entered. This information varies depending on the object to be added
  3. Click Next to go to the next tab

  4. Define Object Parameters (only for objects reading from Tagetik Form)

Word Add-in > CCH TagetikRibbon bar > Objects > New > Parameters

  1. Click on the three dots for each mandatory parameter (*): The panel opens showing the dimension on which the parameter was defined.
  2. Select a node/lowest level element for the dimension from a Flat list or hierarchy
  3. Click on Confirm to confirm your selection or Cancel to cancel it and return to the Parameters tab
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

Note. It is not necessary to specify any dimension value for parameters that are not mandatory.

  1. Defining Advanced Settings

  2. Choose the format to be applied to the numerical values of the object

  3. Select a format from those available or define a custom one
  4. Click on New: the New object window will pop up
  5. Define Object Name, Object Type and enter any additional information
  6. Click Next to go to the next tab
