Export object list

The object list export feature allows the user to check all the information related to the objects in a document and all linked parts. The ‘Export Object List’ option is available from the structure panel of an open document after selecting the three dots.

Note: If the user starts processing a document where no objects are present, the system returns an error message informing the user that there are no objects in the hierarchy.

If there is at least one object in the hierarchy, the system processes the file in xlsx format and if a document in the structure has no object, it is not listed.

Exported Object List Information

  • Document: name of the document where the object is present
  • Object type: type of object
  • Object name: the name of the object defined during insertion
  • Object additional information : additional information
  • Keep manual overrides on date: true/false depending on whether toggle is on or off
  • Keep manual overrides on style: true/false depending on whether toggle is on or off
  • Source: The source where the object is retrieved from
  • Application: the database in which the object is present
  • Analytical Workspace: N/A for all objects except for Financial Amount
  • Data configurations: N/A for all objects except for Financial Amount
  • Rich text: N/A for all objects except for Rich text object, for which the exact value is displayed
  • File/format: Name of the form in the database
  • Sheet: the name of the excel file sheet where the object is present
  • Area/cell: the name of the excel file area where the object is located
  • Dimensions/parameters: names of dimensions or parameters configured during creation
  • Attribute dimensions: N/A for all objects. Populated only if the object is Attribute Dimension object type with name
  • Component: N/A when the object has only been added, True if the user has enabled the button, False if the user has disabled it
  • Instance: N/A for all objects, True if object is an instance of a component object
  • Reference Instance: the name of the object and the file where the object is located are displayed
  • Lock: True if the object is locked by the user, false if it is unlocked and available to all users

Note: The message ‘Inactive Object’ appears when the object is no longer active

Important: Make sure that the document's autosave option is enabled before starting the data processing, so that all information aligned to the document is exported.

Export Object List

The ‘Export Objects’ option allows the user to view all active objects within the entire structure. These objects are listed in an Excel file that is saved to the user’s personal computer.

When a user opens the Tagetik document, navigates to its structure by selecting the three dots next to the relevant document, and clicks the ‘Export Objects’ option, the system—once data processing is launched—checks whether objects are present throughout the entire structure, including linked part documents

Note. If no objects are present in the structure, the system stops processing and displays a warning message informing the user that no objects are available.

If, on the other hand, the system finds at least one object in the structure when data processing is launched, the process starts and an Excel file is downloaded locally. The files contains references to the object and the document in which it is located.

There are two cases in which the object is not shown in the exported file:

  1. If an object is available in the DataBase and not in the Document
  2. If an object is available in the document but not in the DataBase

When an object is available in the document but is no longer active e.g. (the document is restored to another version and the object's status has changed) the exported file displays the entry ‘Inactive Object’ in the last column.”

IMPORTANT: After manually editing object values, make sure that the document has completed saving the changes and its status is Saved before exporting the object list. If the document is still being saved, any changes will not be reflected in the exported excel file.
