Adding an Amount in the Document

Word Add-in > CCH Tagetikribbon bar > Objects > New

Depending on the data source of the value associated with the amount, this procedure allows one of the following types of Amount objects to be inserted into the document:

  • Amount from Tagetik database
  • Amount from Excel file
  • Amount from Tagetik Form

IMPORTANT. It is not possible to nest updatable objects. For example, if an attempt is made to insert a Dimension Attribute object type within a Table or Rich Text object , the operation will be prevented and the user will be notified of the failed entry.

Below are the procedures to be followed based on the different types of object.

Customized format

A customised numeric and/or percentage format can be created using an 'identifier' to define the formatting of the data. Some examples are provided below:

  • use the numeric format identifier #,##0 'ths' or #,##0 'mills' to obtain values in thousands and millions;

  • use the numeric format identifier '-'. It can be used to replace the numeric value zero with this output format. The format identifier '-' placeholder zero replaces the zero with the corresponding identifier; otherwise, the zero is displayed as the result.
