Adding a Free Object to the Document

Word Add-in > CCH TagetikRibbon bar > Objects > New

This procedure allows a free object to be added to the document.

  1. Open the document in edit mode
  2. Place the cursor in the section of the document where you wish to insert the object
  3. Click on New: the New object window will pop up

Adding a Checkbox

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Checkbox
  3. Insert Additional Information if necessary, and
  4. Click on Insert

Add Text

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Text

Add Free Text

In the General tab:

  1. Select Free Text
  2. Click Insert to insert a Free Text into the document

Note: Other objects such as Imports, Dimensional Attributes, etc. can be inserted within the free text. If a Table is inserted in-line with the text, it will be placed in the next paragraph to avoid loss of formatting.

Add Formatted Text CCH® Tagetik

IMPORTANT: This functionality is supported by version 5.3.29.0 of CCH® Tagetikand later.

In the General tab:

  1. Select CCH® Tagetik Formatted Text
  2. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Source tab :

  1. Select an Application Database from the drop-down menu
  2. Select an Analytical Workspace and
  3. Select one of the Datasets defined for the selected Analytical Workspace
  4. Select the Rich Text to be added
  5. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Parameters tab:

  1. Select a value for each Dimension used in the dataset
  2. Click Insert to insert the Rich Text into the document

IMPORTANT: Rich Text can only be updated if the external source (Rich Tex Endpoint) where the rich texts will be saved has been defined for the Application Database selected when inserting the object. For further details see Rich Text Endpoint.

Add a Dropdown

In the General tab:

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Dropdown
  3. Insert Additional Information if necessary, and
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Source tab :

  1. Specify in the Display name box the value to be used as the list item
  2. Specify in the Value box the value to be stored if a user selects this item in the document object
  3. Click Add Item to add another value to be used as a list item and repeat steps 1 to 2 for each item to be added to the list

Note: There must be at least two items to be displayed in the list. Only after adding an item to the two default ones will it be possible to delete one of them. 4. Click on Insert

IMPORTANT: The list items will be displayed in the document Dropdown in the same order as specified in the Source tab. However, it is possible to change the display order by placing the cursor on the icon, holding down the mouse button and dragging the item to the new position.
