Add a Chart to the Document

Word Add-in > CCH® Tagetik Disclosureribbon bar > Objects > New

This procedure allows a Chart defined in a CCH Tagetik Form or in an external source (Excel file) to be added to the document.

  1. Open the document in edit mode
  2. Place the cursor in the section of the document where you wish to insert the object
  3. Click on New: the New object window will pop up

Add a chart from Form CCH Tagetik

To add a Chart defined in a Form to the document from CCH Tagetik:

In the General tab:

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Graph
  3. Insert additional information if necessary
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Source tab:

  1. Click on Tagetik
  2. Select the application database from those available in the drop-down menu. The databases that can be selected are those associated with the user who logged in. If an object has already been added to the document, the system displays the previously selected database as the default value.Note: the Copy Configuration button can be used to paste the matrix configurations copied from the Excel add-in using the Copy Area/Chart utility.
  3. Click on the three dots to select the Form
  4. Select a Sheet from those defined for the form
  5. Select a chart from those defined for the selectedform

Note: If the selected form has no chart defined, the system displays a message "No chart available" 6. Click Next to go to the next tab or Previous to return to the previous tabs.

In the Parameters tab:

  1. Click on Actions for each mandatory parameter (*): this opens the parameters selection panel

Note: If the selected form has no parameters, the system displays the message "No parameters available for this form" and the user can move on to the next tab. 2. Select a hierarchy/grouping for the dimension to which the parameter refers 3. Select in the dimension tree a single element/node, or several elements/nodes (multi-selection is possible) 4. Click on Confirm to add the selected items and return to the Parameters tab 5. Click Next to go to the next tab or Previous to return to previous tabs

IMPORTANT. If a value has been selected in the document for the dimension to be defined, the Inherit from parent document toggle is switched on and the dimension value selected in the parent document is shown as the default value. The user may decide not to inherit the value from the parent document by turning off the toggle and selecting a new value.

Note. If the inherited parameter is the Scenario dimension and only one value is selected for this parameter in the document from which it is inherited, then it will be possible to select aReference Scenario from those available (see Reference Scenario). To do so, click on Show Options, visible just below the value of the inherited Scenario.

Add a Chart from Form CCH Tagetikas an Image

To add a Chart defined in a Form from CCH Tagetik as an image to the document, the procedure is the same as that described for adding a Chart from a Form except that the user in the Source tab will have to

In the General tab:

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Chart
  3. Insert additional information if necessary
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

  5. Click on Insert as image

  6. Inherit the Format and Resolution values defined in the Root document (default value), or
  7. Turn off the Inherit Format toggle and:
  8. Select an Image Format from: JPEG, PNG, SVG, EMF or TIFF ("SVG, TIFF, and EMF image formats are only supported by the Desktop application)
  9. Select an Image Resolution from: Low Resolution (150 ppi), Standard Resolution (300 ppi) or High Resolution (600 ppi) if a JPEG or PNG type format was selected as the image format

IMPORTANT. To preserve the style used in image objects during each document update, a wide selection of the most commonly used fonts has been made available. If you wish to use customised or licensed fonts that are not among those available, you can request their addition by following the procedure described in 'How to request the addition of fonts not available in the Application Server'.

Add a Chart from Excel

To add a Chart defined in an Excel file:

In the General tab:

  1. Enter the Name of the object
  2. Click on Object Type and select Chart
  3. Insert additional information if necessary
  4. Click Next to go to the next tab

In the Source tab :

  1. Select the desired external source Excel file residing on the SharePoint by navigating the menu File
  2. Select the desired sheet from the Sheet menu options
  3. Select the desired chart from the Chart menu options

Note: If the selected sheet has no chart defined, the system displays a message "No charts available" 4. Click Next to go to the next tab or Previous to return to previous tabs

In the Advanced tab:

  1. Choose Document root to format Number, Percentage and Date values with the formats
  2. defined in the document root
  3. Choose Source (default) to keep the format of Numbers, Percentages and Dates defined on the source
  4. Click Insert to add the table to the document, or
  5. Click Previous to return to previous tabs

Add a Chart from Excel as an Image

To add a Chart defined in an Excel file as an image, the procedure is the same as described for adding a Chart from Execl except that the user in the Source tab will have to:

  1. Click on Insert as image
  2. Inherit the Format and Resolution values defined in the Root document, or
  3. Turn off the Inherit Format toggle
  4. Select an Image Format from: JPEG, PNG, SVG, EMF or TIFF ("SVG, TIFF, and EMF image formats are only supported by the Desktop application)
  5. Select an Image Resolution from: Low Resolution (150 ppi), Standard Resolution (300 ppi) or High Resolution (600 ppi) if a JPEG or PNG type format was selected as the image format
