Approve a Plan

When you approve a plan, an official checkpoint is created against which you can compare historical or forecast data.

Your organization may decide to approve plans monthly, or on another appropriate schedule. Approving a plan copies and saves all of the final forecast values in the plan. While saving checkpoints should not affect system performance, it does take up disk space on the server.

Note: You must have administrator permissions to approve a plan.

To approve a plan

  1. In the Approve Plan screen, set the following parameters:

Plan Parameters

Parameter Description
Version name Typically, the date on which the plan was approved (Demand Jan 2016, for example). The name of the approved plan begins with the name of the module in which it was created. For example, approved plans created in the Budget module begin with the word Budget.
Start date The beginning of the period for the approved plan data.
End date The end of the period for the approved plan data.
2. Click OK.
