Configure the Database
All CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning implementations have a minimum of one forecast database. You may want to add additional forecast databases to experiment with forecasts or to support the use of CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning by subsidiaries.
Only administrators can create a forecast database.
To configure the database
- On the Dashboard, on the menu, click Design > Supply Chain Planning > Setup > System Setup.

In the Database Setup section, in the Expiration date field, do one of the following:

Type a date for the database to expire.
- Click the calendar icon and select a date for the database to expire.
The database expiration date determines how long records in CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning should be used to generate forecasts and reports. Once the expiration date is reached, any changes made to CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning cannot be saved.
The expiration date forces record owners to evaluate their forecasts and ensure they are correct. Examples of useful expiration dates are annual review date or the end of each fiscal year. 3. Set the following options:

| Allow all users to modify records that have no owner | All users can change records that do not have an Owner specified. |
| Keep a record of all changes | Stores all changes to the forecast database. You should enable this setting. |
| Lock the database to prevent changes | Replaces the Save Changes button on the Records List tab with the word LOCKED, which prevents any changes to the database from being saved. |
| Cache forecasts to improve performance | CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning does not use any new data imported after caching is enabled. To use new data, you must refresh the database. |
