Business cycles

What are business cycles

In process settings, business cycles define the type of submission (single submission or submission by scenario/period). They are based on scenarios and periods, and so these dimensions must already be prepared in CCH Tagetik’s Data Model.

Function

Setting the business cycles allows you to define the time interval over which the data must be submitted.

There are two types of business cycle:

  • Submission by scenario/period: submission is completed for every scenario/period of the cycle. The cycle data are then locked when all scenarios/periods have been submitted.
  • Single submission: data submission is completed for a group of periods, e.g. every 12 periods for an annual process. Data for the entire cycle are locked when the last scheduled period has been submitted.

IMPORTANT: if you change the type of business cycle, data related to the Analytical Information Hubs linked to the process will be lost.
