Calculation Logics

Available types of logic

Calculation logics can be Basic or Other.

Field Description
Base Logics first run by the system during consolidation data processing, see . All calculation logics generated automatically by the system are Basic. They can be enabled on entities or on the group. For example, there are logics related to result accounts (see ), control groups (see ) and plug accounts and logics that calculate the gross figure of an account based on its intercompany amount.
Other Logics run in the second instance by the system during consolidation data processing. In turn, these can be enabled on entities, on the group, or on the consolidation area.

Logics created by users can be eitherBasic or Other.

Managing loops between calculation logics.

When defining the calculation logics to be used, the system checks whether there are any loops between calculation logics. If there are, it prevents all calculation logics from being run.

However, it is possible to intervene on apparent loops, i.e. those generated by Multidimensional Script calculation logics, whose output accounts are also input accounts for other logics. To do this, it is necessary to override the sequence of the calculation logic when defining it (Setup & Admin > Data Processing > Calculation logics > Elements). (Navigation panel > Data Processing > Calculation logics > List). In fact, the system runs the logics of every sequence sequentially and only analyses possible dependencies between logics with the same sequence number. For more details on the application of calculation logics to data processing, see .

Note: to preserve performance when running calculation logics, only override the sequence in the event of apparent loops.
