Consolidation scenario

Characteristics

A consolidation scenario has the following attributes:

  • the original scenario that feeds the consolidation scenario, i.e. the scenario containing the data that will be processed during the consolidation process
  • the holding
  • the currency in which the consolidation must be generated This does not necessarily have to be the currency of the holding and, in this case, the holding is also subject to the consolidation process.
  • any filter on the categories that feed the consolidation. This filter is defined through a node of the category grouping.
  • any filter on the accounts that feed the consolidation
  • any reference scenario for FX rates, otherwise the same FX rate will be applied as for the original scenario
  • a prefix to create the journal number in the financial investment reclassification journals.

Consolidation scenario periods

To define a consolidation scenario period, it is sufficient to select one of the periods of the original scenario that feeds it. Tagetik automatically gives the following attributes to the new period:

  • start and end date, equal to those of the original scenario period
  • a description, which is filled in automatically but can be changed afterwards
  • a process, equal to the one of the original scenario period
  • a period length, to define the previous reference period

The period length is useful to carry out the following actions:

  • to convert at the period average FX rate
  • to retrieve the previous period for deconsolidation operations from the previous period.

A consolidation scenario period may be given Locked status. This means that it cannot be processed or edited.
