How to create a scenario
Dimensions > Scenario > List
- In the period list, click
: an empty row will be added. - In the Attributes tab, insert the code for the new scenario and define its characteristics.
- In the Relationships tab, the new scenario is automatically related to a default node ($). If necessary, replace this node or add others.
- Set all the characteristics for the scenario, then click Save: the scenario will now be listed in the elements table.
How to create an original scenario from an existing scenario
Dimensions > Scenario > List
- In the scenarios list, click
> Add scenarios from existing: a window will open allowing you to select the scenario to be used as a model. - Select a reference year and a model scenario.
- Select the years for which the new scenarios need to be created, then click OK: a new original scenario will be created with the same number of periods as the source original scenario. The start and end date for each period depend on the new tax year.
How to relate a period to a specific scenario
Dimensions > Period > List
- In the scenarios list, select the scenario to which a period needs to be added, then click
> Periods: the window will open containing the period list for the selected scenario. - In the period list, click
: an empty row will be added. - In Period, select an existing period from the period list that has not yet been related to this scenario.
- In the Attributes tab, select the code for the new period from those present in the list that have not yet been related to the scenario, and define the relative characteristics, then click Save: the period will be listed in the period list for the scenario.
How to create a scenario snapshot
Dimensions > Scenario > List
- In the scenarios list, select the scenario for which a snapshot scenario needs to be created, then click
> Snapshot: the window will open allowing you to create the snapshot. - In Version number, assign a number to the snapshot.
- In Snapshot scenario, insert the code of the snapshot scenario.

IMPORTANT: The original scenario selected must be enabled.
How to recode a scenario
Dimensions > Scenario > List
- In the scenarios list, select the scenario whose code needs to be changed.
- Select
> Recode original scenarios/Recode consolidation scenarios: the recode page will open. - Click
: an empty row will be added. - In the Attributes tab, under Code, select the code to be replaced.
- Under New Code, insert the new code to be assigned to the scenario.

IMPORTANT: the new code must not already be used in Tagetik. 6. Select Primary if the code inserted must prevail in case of any conflict. 7. Click Save to save the new code. 8. Repeat from step 3 in order to change other codes. 9. Click Run to recode all the new codes saved.
Note: this operation may take several minutes.
How to create scenario groupings
Dimensions > Scenario > Grouping
- In the list of scenario groupings, select the point where the new grouping is to be inserted.
- Click on
; a row will be added in the table for the new node. - In the Attributes tab, define the characteristics of the grouping, and then click Save.
How to add scenarios to a grouping
Dimensions > Scenario > Grouping
- In the list of scenario groupings, select the desired grouping and open it.
- Select the point where the scenario needs to be inserted.
- Click
; a row will be added in the table for the new scenario. - In the Attributes tab, define the characteristics of the scenario.
- In the Relationships tab, define the relationship with any other nodes, then click Save.
