About Forecast Modifiers
CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning automatically generates the best statistical forecast for your historical data. However, in some cases, you need to modify the forecast to accommodate factors outside of the historical data.
For example, you have a forecast for a product's sales and you want to modify the forecast to account for an upcoming promotion, the adoption of a significantly new version of the product, or the opening of a new factory.
You can modify forecasts using the following methods:
- Override methods
CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning automatically selects the best forecast method for your historical data, but you can change the method manually.

You can filter forecast data to modify values and process effects in daily and monthly data.
See Apply Additional Method Settings. - Local overrides
You can manually enter local overrides using values or formulas.
Only apply overrides if the value is known and the quantity is out of the ordinary (a lot more or less than the forecast); something not covered within the confidence band.

You also can modify the historical data for a forecast using comparable records. Comparable data is used to improve the quality of a forecast when the historical data contains only a few data points.
