How to work with hierarchies
How to view and modify existing hierarchies
Dimensions > choose dimension >
> Hierarchies
- Select the hierarchy to modify.
- In the Attributes tab, make the changes and then click Save: the hierarchies for which changes have not yet been saved will be highlighted (
).
How to create a hierarchy
Dimensions > choose dimension > New hierarchy
- Insert a code to attribute to the new hierarchy.
- Define the characteristics of the hierarchy, and then click OK: the hierarchy will be created inside the dimension hierarchy.
How to create a new element inside a hierarchy
Dimensions > choose dimension > Show all > choose hierarchy
- In the hierarchy structure, select the node within which to add the element, and then click
: a new row will appear in the table. - In the configuration tabs, add all the data for the element, and then click Save: the element will be created and will be related to the node and to the hierarchy at the same time.
How to relate an element to a hierarchy
Dimensions > choose dimension > Show all > choose hierarchy
- In the hierarchy structure, select the node to which the element is to be related, and then click
: a new row will appear in the table. - In the Attributes tab, insert the code of the element to be related, and then click Save: the element data will be reported in the table and the element will be related to the selected node in the hierarchy.
How to relate several elements to a hierarchy
Dimensions > choose dimension > List
- In the elements table, click
: it is now possible to select several elements. - In the elements table, select all the dimension elements to be related to the same hierarchy,
- In the Relationships tab, click
: a new hierarchy selection box will be added. - Select the desired hierarchy from those available.
Note: only the hierarchies to which it is possible to relate the element will be shown. 5. If necessary, select a node from those available within the hierarchy, and then click Save: the relationships created now apply to all selected elements.
How to add a node to a hierarchy
Dimensions > choose dimension > Show all > choose hierarchy
- In the hierarchy structure, select the root or the node within which to create a new node, and then click
: a new node row will appear in the table. - In the Attributes tab, insert the code of the node to be created, and then click Save: the node data are reported in the table and the node is related to the selected element in the hierarchy.
How to relate unrelated elements to a node
Dimensions > choose dimension > Show all > choose hierarchy
- In the hierarchy structure, select Unrelated elements: all the dimension elements that have not yet been related to any node will be shown in the table.
- Select the desired element and use your mouse to drag it to the desired node in the hierarchy structure.
- Click Save.
How to define hierarchy levels
Dimensions > choose dimension > Show all > choose hierarchy
- Click Hierarchy levels: the Hierarchy levels page will open.
- Click
to add a new level: a new row will appear in the table. - In the Attributes tab, insert the information about the new level, and then click Save: the new level will be created.
