Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Design > open form > select cell > Cell field

Inserting a dimensional cell field

  1. Select the desired dimension element in Predefined functions and click . The syntax for the selected element will be shown in the cell definition area.
  2. Repeat step 1 to insert other dimension elements. Elements are separated by the "." symbol.
  3. Click OK: the cell will be inserted into the form.
  4. If useful, edit the cell format.
  5. If useful, add a brief description of the cell field’s content in the cell next it.

When the form is run, the cell field is defined with the chosen element. By changing the entity or node when opening the form, the cell value changes depending on the selected element.

Inserting text with parametric elements

This procedure shows how to insert parametric text into a cell of the work desktop using parts of text and cell fields.

  1. In the definition area of the cell fields wizard, insert the desired text between double quotation marks (e.g. "text"), and concatenate it to the text with operators such as + or -.

Note: if no operator is inserted by default, they are automatically concatenated using the operator + ", " +.

  1. To insert parametric information, select the desired element from the functions tree and click . The syntax for the selected element will be shown in the cell definition area, next to the inserted text.
  2. (Optional) Edit the text-based content as desired and repeat step 2 for every desired dimension element.
  3. Click OK.

When the form is run, the inserted text and the values of the parametric information to which the syntax refers are shown in the cell.

Delete a cell field

In the left-hand panel Open items, select the desired cell field and click .
