How to create a category

Dimensions > Category> List

  1. In the categories list, click : an empty row will be added.
  2. In the Attributes tab, insert the code for the new category and define the relative type.

Note: it is necessary to define different attributes depending on the type of category selected. 3. In the Relationships tab, the new category is automatically related to a default node ($). If necessary, replace this node or update with others. 4. Set all the characteristics for the category, then click Save: the category will now be listed in the elements table.

How to inherit settings from another category

Dimensions > Category> List

  1. In the category elements table, select the category to be defined and then click > Relate as similar category: the relationship window will open.
  2. In Reference Category, select the category from which to inherit the settings: all the "inheritable" characteristics for that category will be displayed.
  3. Select the characteristics to be inherited, then click Run: the category selected in the elements table will inherit all the selected characteristics.

How to relate a category to a node in a hierarchy

Dimensions > Category> List

  1. In the categories list, select one or more categories to be related to the same node.
  2. In the Relationships tab, select the node with which to create the relationship, then click Save.

How to recode a node

Dimensions > Category > List > > Recode Nodes

  1. In the categories list, select the category whose code needs to be changed.
  2. Select > Recode Nodes: the Recode Nodes page will open.
  3. Click : an empty row will be added.
  4. In the Attributes tab, under Code, select the code to be replaced.
  5. Under New Code, insert the new code to be assigned to the node.

IMPORTANT: the new code must not already be used in Tagetik. 6. Select Primary if the code inserted must prevail in case of any conflict. 7. Click Save to save the new code. 8. Repeat from step 3 in order to change other codes. 9. Click Run to recode all the new codes saved.

Note: this operation may take several minutes.

How to recode an element

Dimensions > Category > List > > Recode Elements

  1. In the categories list, select the category whose code needs to be changed.
  2. Select > Recode Elements: the Recode Elements page will open.
  3. Click : an empty row will be added.
  4. In the Attributes tab, under Code, select the code to be replaced.
  5. Under New Code, insert the new code to be assigned to the element.

How to define a journal model

Dimensions > Category> List

Note: only users with admin rights can carry out this procedure.

  1. In the categories list, select the ‘Company Journal’ and ‘Consolidation Journal’ category for which to create a model.
  2. In the Attributes tab, under Advanced, click Journal model definition: the Journal models page will open.
  3. Click : an empty row will be added.
  4. In the Attributes tab, under Account, select an account to be inserted into the model, then set all the relative characteristics (e.g. cost centers).
  5. To add other accounts to the model, repeat from step 3 onwards.
  6. Click Save to save the model.
