Purpose of the tab¶
This tab allows you to manage the following:
- form formatting in areas of the matrix
- how empty matrix cells are saved in the database
- how to dynamically open rows/columns
- Break back options
Sub-tabs
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Layout options | Allows you to do the following: - matrix formatting - matrix subtotal display mode - dynamic matrix display mode - how matrix row and column data are saved in the database |
| Calculation options | Allows you to manage elements related to optimisations and how matrix data are saved in the database. |
| Edit amounts | Allows you to manage the opening of new rows in data entry mode, for transactional forms. |
| Form - Break Back | Allows you to manage break back mode at the matrix level. |
Note: Calculation options, Edit Amounts, Form - Break Back are not support on transactional forms or multidimensional Analytical Workspaces.
Options in the Layout options tab
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Allows you to edit the matrix code. |
| Formatting type | Allows you to enable/disable the use of Tagetik styles. See Tagetik styles . - None: the matrix is formatted using Excel's formatting functionalities. - Apply Tagetik style: the matrix is formatted using the Tagetik style associated with the form. |
| Subtotals | Allows you to manage the subtotal display mode in dynamic matrices. - Subtotal before the detail: shows the subtotal value after the total and before the lowest level elements. - Deploy the lowest elements then the nodes of the same level: in the presence of nodes to which both child nodes and elements of a dimension are related, this allows you to manage the order in which the form rows are generated. - Group subtotals: groups subtotals using Excel's group functionality. When enabled, every node and their children are grouped into an Excel level. Note: transactional forms do not support the management of subtotals. |
| Matrix | Allows you to change the matrix display mode in navigation and data entry. - Do not repeat duplicate information on every row/column: in the presence of dimensions nested on rows/columns, this allows you to prevent the description of those dimensions from being repeated in every row/column header, so it is only shown on rows where one of the nested dimensions changes. - Show zero values if the cells aren't defined: manages how empty cells are displayed. - Not defined: items for which no value exists in the database are shown as empty cells in the form, - To zero: items not defined are saved in the database and shown in the form with value 0. Note: When this second option is used in combination with the form option “Enable Save zero values”, the system saves a 0 in the database for every cell left empty when the form is submitted. - Allow matrix splitting: no longer in use but present for compatibility with the client's previous versions. - Show Documentation link: allows you to create hyperlinks to web pages, to insert additional information on elements of dimensions. The links can only be configured in the web interface. The inserted link is shown in navigation and data entry modes inside the row/column header. Note: transactional forms do not support the management of links. |
| Rows and columns | This allows you to configure the way in which the dynamic matrix expands when the form is opened in navigation or data entry mode. - (Not enabled for transactional forms and Multidimensional Analytical Workspaces)Maximum Number of Rows/Columns: defines the maximum number of rows and columns that the system creates when it generates a dynamic matrix (0: unlimited). - Row/column expansion mode: allows you to configure way in which the rows or columns of a dynamic matrix can be generated - Shift cells down/right: creates cells by moving existing cells for rows down and moving existing cells for columns to the right. - Entire row/column: adds a row/column to the sheet. - Don't expand: disables row/column expansion. - Autofit columns: allows you to set the column width. - None: the column width is not adapted to the content. - From template: the column width corresponds to the width set in the form design. - By value: the column width adjusts to its content. |
| Row/column behaviour preview area | Shows the row/column expansion mode. |
Options in the Calculation options tab
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable overriding | - No longer in use but present for compatibility with the client's previous versions. |
| Save the original data and currency data separately | Allows you to save the original data and the currency data separately. By default, the system converts original currency data according to the scenario/period FX rate, then saves the result over the original data in the entity currency. |
| Exclude from evaluation of zero value sheets | Allows you to exclude a matrix from pruning (see Pruning). By default, with form filters with pruning set to not defined/to zero and matrices in the template with values of the same filters to zero/not defined, the system hides the sheet when the form is run. |
| Keep the IC amount in synch with the Gross amount | |
| Active | Automatically updates the gross figure every time the intercompany data are edited (e.g., if the gross figure is 100 and the intercompany figure is changed from 70 to 80, increasing it by 10, the system saves the gross figure as 110). |
| Not active | Does not update the gross figure every time the intercompany data are edited (e.g., if the gross figure is 100 and the intercompany figure is changed from 70 to 80, the system leaves the gross figure as 100). |
| Unspecified | The save mode is determined by the value of Copy intercompany to gross amounts in the advanced settings of the data entry rules configuration (Setup & Administration > Data Entry & Submission Rules > Amount & Intercompany rules ) (Navigation Panel > Processes & Workflows > Amount & Intercompany rules). See Data entry rules. |
| Hints database | |
| Enable | Enables the use of database hints in queries run when the form is run. |
| Enable calculation on data | Enables the use of database hints in queries run when the form is run based on the content of the data tables. |
| Disable | Disables the use of database hints in queries run when the form is run. |
| Automatically | The system automatically activates/deactivates the use of database hints in queries run when the form is run. |
| Use optimization in report data entry | |
| Yes | When set to Yes, the matrix loading is optimized for calculating editability in the financial workspace, allowing for more efficient handling of high cardinality of accounts (or account/category combinations), and improving performance when dealing with thousands of accounts. |
| No | When set to No, the matrix loading is not optimized for calculating editability. |
| From configuration | When set to 'From configuration', the optimisation options are determined by the value "Use optimization in report data entry" in the System Settings window, under the Form -> Data Entry tab. |
Options in the Edit amounts tab
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| "Instead of asking the user for a filter, automatically open the first one available" | (Only valid in forms that contain dynamic nodes with the advanced selection option Allow new rows/columns wizard in data entry enabled) When the user clicks on , a new row/column opens on the first available element of the filter. |
| In the case of transactional forms, ask how many rows or columns to open | In a transactional form in which the Allow new rows/columns wizard in data entry option is enabled on the advanced selection options of the Counter dimension, it allows the following behaviour: - If active, and the form is run in data entry mode, when the user clicks , it allows new rows to be opened manually. - If not active, when the form is run in data entry mode, the system opens a fixed number of rows specified on the attribute of the Additional rows to open matrix counter. |
| Enable Editability On Demand | (Only visible with transactional matrices) When the form is run in data entry mode, the cell editability calculation is not performed at the start, but afterwards, when the cell is clicked. See Editability on Demand. |
Options in the Form - Break Back tab
Allows you to override break back mode on the matrix.
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Break back dimensions | - Default: applies the break back mode specified in the data entry rules related to the process. - break back deactivated: deactivates break back, so the form’s cells which correspond to a node are not editable. - Custom dimension: enables break back on custom dimensions only. - Custom dimensions - Entity - Accounts:dimensions on which you can enable Break Back |
| Save on the reference element | With the break back functionality active, indicates whether, in the data entry step from a form, the values inserted on the nodes must always be attributed to the reference lowest element. - Default: applies the break back mode specified in the data entry rules related to the process. - Yes: the values inserted on the nodes are attributed to the reference lowest element. - No: when the values that are inserted on the node can be distributed over lowest level elements related to the same node in proportion to the old value, they are automatically attributed to the nodes’ reference lowest element. |
