Dimensions tree in the Matrix Wizard
Introduction¶
In the Matrix Wizard, the Row/column filters, Matrix filters, Overrides and Forms tabs allow you to set filters on reporting data based on a dimensions tree.
Elements of the dimensions tree¶
Depending on the selected tab, the dimensions tree shows the following dimensions:
| Tab | Description |
|---|---|
| Row/column filters | - system dimensions (scenario, period, account, control groups, entity, etc.) - custom dimensions (e.g. : products, cost centres, etc.) - specific reporting dimensions (e.g. period length), see Specific dimensions for reporting. - specific dimensions of some reporting functionalities (e.g. Column form and Counter, used in the management of transactional data entry forms) - predefined filters, see Parameters. - Wizard > Control groups, see Control groups: basic concepts. |
| Matrix filters | - system dimensions (scenario, period, account, entity...) - custom dimensions (e.g. : products, cost centres, etc.) - specific reporting dimensions (e.g. period length), see Parameters. |
| Overrides | - system dimensions (scenario, period, account, entity...) - custom dimensions (e.g. : products, cost centres, etc.) - specific reporting dimensions (e.g. period length), see Parameters. - predefined filters, see Parameters. - Wizard > Control groups, see Control groups: basic concepts. |
Account dimension utility nodes¶
In the dimensions tree, the account hierarchy and following utility nodes, which allow you to quickly select several accounts at the same time, are shown by default for the account dimension.
| Node | Description |
|---|---|
| Financial statement templates | - Aggregation structure of the accounts or accounts/custom dimensions generally used to create financial statements (IAS profit and loss statements and balance sheets, management reports, direct/indirect financial reports), KPIs and other indices necessary for reporting. See Financial statement templates. |
| Control groups | Groups of accounts organised on the basis of balancing rules between accounts, variations that document how they change over time, or elements that allow the user to detail an account. See Control groups: basic concepts. |
| $ - All Accounts | Default node that allows you to select one or several elements or nodes from the group of accounts |
| $-All Control Groups | Node that allows you to select one or several elements or nodes from the group of control groups. |
Parameter-type elements¶
In the dimensions tree, for each dimension and hierarchy there is a parameter shown in blue in the dimensions tree, the name of which always starts with $ (e.g. $AZI_P for entity elements, $PER_P for period elements, etc.). This allows you to select the desired dimension by choosing from among the available elements deriving from the context and compatible with the relative user restrictions.
In addition to dimensional parameters, when defined, system parameters and custom parameters can be used as row/column filters or matrix filters.
For more details on parameters, see Parameters.
Display rules¶
The data displayed in the dimensions tree vary based on the following criteria:
- user rights on dimensions
- Exclude from reporting option active on some hierarchies or nodes of a group because they are only useful for configuration, otherwise they are obsolete
