The Origin dimension

What is it for

The Origin dimension allows you to obtain information on the origin of data. It can be used as a row/column filter, a matrix filter, a tab filter or a form filter, statically by selecting a lowest level element, or dynamically by using a system parameter (see System parameter details).

Specific features for use in parametric forms

Both during the design and during the running of parametric forms, the origin dimension defines the comparison condition with which to filter the data based on their origin. The comparison is on textual data via comparison operators:

  • the operator "=" specified a single origin to be displayed
  • the operator "<>" excludes the specific origin from the comparison

For example, by specifying "=" as the comparison operator, and INPUT_DEFORM as the comparison value on an origin filter, you can obtain the sum of all the figures with origin INPUT_DEFORM.

For more details on the possible values for the origin dimension, see Data origin.
