Dataset Attributes : Reporting View

Introduction

Only in cloud environments, within the dataset list page, under the Attributes section of a selected dataset, in the “Reporting view” field — enabled with function code 0004217 — it is possible to create the reporting view for the selected dataset and, if needed, delete it. Creation or deletion can be rerun in the event of an error.

Reporting View Creation

A reporting view may only be created in the following cases:

  • the dataset must be online (otherwise the 'Create' button is disabled)
  • the dataset cannot contain any analytical dimension with GDPR enabled
  • The dataset cannot contain only text and/or date type fields
  • the dataset must be updated to version V2 of the reporting

Deleting a Reporting View

A reporting view associated with a dataset can be deleted whether the dataset is in offline or online status.

IMPORTANT: A dataset can only be deleted if the reporting view linked to the dataset has been correctly deleted. Similarly, deletion is available for a workspace containing only datasets with correctly deleted reporting views.

Changes to the fields of a dataset used as a Reporting View

In the case of a dataset used as a Reporting View, when editing fields in the dataset, the system checks that no fields that are not compatible with the reporting view are changed and/or added (see Reporting View Creation)

Offline set of datasets used as Reporting View

When a dataset is used as a Reporting View, it is possible to change its status from online to offline if the creation, updating and deletion of the reporting view and taking the dataset offline are not in progress.

Online dataset used as Reporting View

When a dataset is used as a Reporting View, it is possible to change its status from offline to online if the dataset is not being taken offline and the Reporting View is not being deleted.

Notification Management

At the end of operations on a reporting view, the system notifies the user whether the operation was successful or if it ended with error.

The information is also reported in the audit.
