Purpose of window

This window allows you to create a dataset.

Fields in window

Element Description
Code Dataset code. By default, the system uses a 6-character alphanumeric code. Cannot be edited once created. The code is unique among the physical and virtual Datasets belonging to the same Workspace.
Description Description of the dataset in all enabled system languages.
Ways to create datasets
Create new Allows you to create a new dataset with the properties set in the window.
Load file Allows you to create a non-partitioned dataset for which options cannot be customised. The dataset is generated by loading a csv file containing the relative data.
Data Entry and Reporting properties
User data only When selected, every authorised user can only access their own records via the reporting engine (whether in navigation or data entry mode). The system identifies the relevance of the records using the Userupd (current user code) field which is automatically defined in the dataset by the system when the user creates or edits a record.
Disable user right (read-only) check When selected, it disables the read-only checks on dimensions when the form is opened and saved.
Disable process consistency checks When selected, it disables the consistency with process checks when the form is opened and saved. Data is not consistent with the process when, in relation to a process dimension, it refers to an element that does not belong to the process. Note: when consistency checks are disabled, submission checks are also automatically disabled.
Disable submission checks When selected, this disables submission checks when the form is opened and saved. Note: submission checks are automatically disabled when consistency checks are disabled.
Disable scenario/period locking checks When selected, this disables scenario/period locking checks when the form is opened and saved.
Data update methods This allows you to choose how data is saved after being changed: - Create new record (default) - Updates the existing record
Partitioning policy Defines the policy for creating the physical tables (partitions) on which the dataset data will be saved. - By business cycle (default): if the process in use is a submission by scenario/period process, one partition is created for every scenario/period pair. If the process is a single submission process, one partition is created for all scenarios/periods in the process, but they are different for each process. - By business cycle & : applies the policy by business cycle and creates a specific partition for every entity. - None: all dataset data are saved in a single partition.
DTP properties
Reference dataset Selects the reference dataset. - Dataset - Reference dataset - Reference dataset - Deploy - Reference dataset - Advanced settings - Reference dataset - Existence Once the Dataset has been created, its type cannot be changed. For more details on dataset types, see Reference dataset.
