Rules of CCH Tagetik
Introduction¶
CCH Tagetikapplies the general rules to check the following behaviours:
- general configuration
- (financial statement) carry forwards
- calculation of taxes
- IC calculation, matching and elimination logics
- running of the consolidation data processing
- configuration of financial investments accounts
- allocation of amounts
- financial planning
- running of diagnostic data processing and plausibility checks
- automatic sending of notification emails
Depending on their use, the rules can be grouped as follows:
| Rule type | Description |

| Configuration sets | These are high-level general settings that cannot be overridden or changed for individual processes. Configurations are, for example, the general behaviour settings CCH Tagetik that apply transversally to all processes (i.e. setting the accounting sign). |
| Specific rules | These are the rules defined at application database level. They can be overridden, if necessary, for individual processes. If there are no overrides, these are the rules that CCH Tagetik uses to run data processing, calculations and so on. In practice, to define a rule you must fill out one or more tables. |
| Metadata rules | These rules are defined on metadata and can be overridden for individual processes. |
| Calculation Logics | Calculation logics are rules that define how to run only part of a data processing operation. They are less granular, so that they can be grouped in different ways. They cannot be overridden for processes, but you can select which logics to associate with each process. For example, you can create different calculation logics for accounts, but use some of them for the budget process and others for the actual process. |
| Specific process rules | These rules are directly defined on the process and act only on that process. They are defined, based on the general rules, as overrides. |
| Execution plans (on the process) | These are operational rules that apply to the same process but vary by entity, scenario and/or period. |
By default, data entry is enabled on all processes.
Rules applied to individual processes¶
The following rules are applied to each process:
- configurations
- specific generic or overridden rules, if present
- rules defined on metadata tables or overridden rules, if present
- calculation logics selected through a node of groupings
- rules defined directly on the process
- execution plans defined directly on the process.
Advanced rules are optional, and if not set, the default values are considered.
