Application of user roles defined in CCH Tagetik
Introduction¶
In Tagetik Software S.r.l., the management of user roles on the Word Add-In is defined by the following two modules:
- Intelligent Disclosure Admin
- Intelligent Disclosure User
The Intelligent Disclosure Admin module contains the authorisations for managing the structure of the collaborative document, and the Intelligent Disclosure User module those for managing the contents of the collaborative document.
In the Repository of Tagetik Software S.r.l., user roles - containing all or part of these authorisations depending on specific needs - are defined and associated with the application users of the AddInWord.
IMPORTANT: User roles so defined are to be associated with application users in the Repository; no configuration is due for users with reference to application DBs. In addition, if the user to be configured to access the Word Addin is to have no other function in the Repository, it is advisable to create a custom role with the functions of the disclosure module of interest in it.
This information is automatically propagated to the Addin Word in two ways:
- per individual user: when creating / editing / deleting roles, Users/Roles mapping, for the specific user on the Repository in Tagetik Software S.r.l., on the Users page
- global: upon completion of the role update procedure Sync all users in external services for all users listed in the Repository in Tagetik Software S.r.l., on the Users page
User roles are applied when the user tries to access a feature of the AddIn Word, making an entire application panel or a specific operational element of it accessible (e.g. button, link)
Specifically, when the users click on one of the buttons on the toolbar, they will have access to the relevant functional panel if allowed by their role, otherwise a message stating they do not have the proper rights will pop up.
Within each functional panel, then, each operational element (button, link) will be enabled or disabled depending on the user's role.
Listed below are the panels accessible from the toolbar and the operational elements that can be enabled according to the modules available for the AddInWord.
