Run checks

After creating and relating all the necessary labels to the numbers to validate and after defining the rules, it is possible to run the diagnostic and the rollover. To run these checks, it is necessary to select the document to check and then click the menus displayed by the Values button available on the "Tagetik" ribbon bar.

Run diagnostic

After clicking on Run diagnostic, the system runs the diagnostic validation data processing and performs the following checks:

  • check on the consistency of formulas
  • check on the values of the cells to which the same label has been related (the cells must contain the same value)
  • check on the rule definition, for example if one part of the rule (parent or child column) doesn't contain any labels
  • check on the format of the labelled cells (the cell type must be Numeric)

After completing the checks, the system opens a result window showing any detected errors and for each one it shows: the checks done, the labels defined and the related value. Let's see in detail what the result window looks like:

  • Violated rules:the checked values don't meet the rule. For example, if we have a rule according to which the sum of the parent label must be equal to the sum of the child labels, then after completing the diagnostic, if this sum is not validated:

  • Different values per label: if the cells to which the same label is related don't contain the same value:

  • Unprocessed rules: the rule is irregular because, for example, the same label has been related to two different values and we haven't specified which one is the master label:

  • Validated rules: the system shows the properly validated rules:

  • Repeated values for label: the system shows the document parts in which the same relationship occurs (the same label is related to cells belonging to different document parts but showing the same value):

Run rollover

When clicking on Run rollover, the system verifies the consistency of the values between the current document and the reference document and then UPDATES the labelled objects in the current document whose value violates the defined rollover rule.
