Dimension Panel

Introduction

The dimensions shown in the dimension panel depend on the dataset selected when the matrix was created and on the user’s permissions. From this panel, it is possible to search for and drag individual elements or nodes of a hierarchy onto the matrix to add row/column headers.

The dimensions tree is very similar to the one used in the Matrix Wizard (Dimensions tree in the Matrix Wizard), although it shows fewer dimensions. The Account dimension supports the sign class, so the elements with inverted sign are shown in orange (see Sign class).

Available dimensions

The following dimensions are displayed on the dimension panel:

  • CCH Tagetik‘s system dimensions
  • the custom dimensions (e.g. products, cost centres)
  • certain specific dimensions for reporting such as period length (see Periods: basic concepts).
