Working with rows and columns in a matrix

SmartInsight tile

Navbar > Reports & Analysis > SmartInsight

Add rows/columns from the dimension panel

  1. From the dimension panel, select one or more elements belonging to the same hierarchy and drag them into the spreadsheet: the valid cells for releasing the dragged elements are highlighted in the spreadsheet.
  2. Drop the elements in the desired position chosen from among those available.
  3. To update the matrix, click .

Add rows/columns by entering a code or description

  1. In an empty header cell in the matrix, enter the code or description of a dimension element: after the third character is entered, the list of elements corresponding to the entered characters will appear.

Note: it is not possible to select elements of dimensions other than the one set in the header. 2. Select the desired element: if the matrix has several levels of headers, the other headers are completed automatically by copying the trees of the levels below and the headers of the levels above from the row above/column to the left.

Note: if the cells of all row/column header levels are defined manually, only the row/column with the inserted elements will be added.

Note: if the selected element corresponds to the element of the cell above/to the left, it is considered to be a placeholder. 3. To update the matrix, click .

Add rows/columns using drill-down

  1. In the CCH Tagetik tab, select the desired option in the Add section.
  2. Double click the header on which to run the drill-down: the rows/columns with the elements deriving from the chosen option will be filled automatically.

Note: drill-down operations can still be performed on notes positioned below placeholders. The rows/columns generated by the drill-down inherit the placeholder from the source rows/columns and therefore they are not populated with values corresponding to the placeholder

Note: the style of the source cells is not inherited by the rows/columns generated by the drill-down. 3. If the Auto-Refresh option is disabled, the user must click to update the matrix.

Note: the parent element is not recalculated as the sum of the child elements but remains unchanged.

Delete a row/column

  1. Select a row/column header, press the DEL key or select a row/column, right click and select Clear contents.
  2. To update the matrix, click .

Change a row/column into a matrix filter

  • The headers are multiplied and show the sub-trees only when the copied cells are pasted/dropped in empty cells at the end of the matrix.

Select cells

To select... Then select...
