Setting up forms with Line by Line matrices from the Excel add-in
Introduction¶
The steps to be taken to set up forms containing Line by Line transactional matrices entirely in the Excel add-in are described below. Run the procedures in indicated order.
- Create a standard form
Excel > CCH® Tagetik >
Design > select form grouping >
This procedure explains how to create a standard form from CCH Tagetik’s Excel add-in.
- In the New form window, enter a code and one or several descriptions for the form, based on the languages supported by the CCH Tagetik project.
- Select the desired options.
- To exclude the form from data entry and navigation, click Do not display.
- To enable/disable the form as a web form, choose the desired option in Enable as web form.
- To enable the form as a Dashboard report, select Enable dashboard.
- To enable the form as a Pivot table report, select Run as pivot table.
- To make the form non-editable, select Lock Structure.
- To use an ad hoc form as a model for the new form, click
next to Ad hoc form and select the desired file. - Click OK: the form will be created and opened in Design mode.
- Insert a transactional matrix into the form
Excel > CCH® Tagetik >
Design > select form >
Matrix
- In the Choose the dataset window, click the desired dataset.
- (Only if an Analytical Workspaces dataset is selected) To create a transactional matrix, click Transactional.
- Click OK.
Once the matrix has been created, the system assigns a default name (e.g. Matrix00, Matrix01...), which can be edited in the matrix wizard by the Matrix options tab in the Code field. 3. Design the transactional matrix
Excel > CCH® Tagetik >
Design > select form >
Matrix
This procedure is valid both for Line by Line transactional matrices based on an analytical workspace dataset and for transactional matrices based on a model designed with columns created by the application.
- In the dimensions tree, select the Counter element then click
next to the tree of local row filters, or drag it into the tree. The element will appear below the Rows node. In Line by Line transactional matrices, the Counter element can also be positioned on local filters on the Columns. - In the dimensions tree, select the desired dataset field or dimension element, then click
next to the tree of local row filters, or drag it into the tree. The element will appear below the Columns node. In Line by Line transactional matrices, the field or dimension element can also be positioned on local filters on the Rows. - Set the filter properties as desired (see Row/column filter properties).
- Repeat the previous steps 2 and 3 to add more dataset fields or dimension elements.
-
(Optional) To add the row content management column:
If the matrix's dataset is based... Then, in the dimensions tree... on the Financial Workspace select the Delete element, then add it to the column filters. on Analytical Workspaces (Line by Line transactional matrices) select the Status element, then add it to the column filters. 4. Customise the transactional data entry details window
Excel > CCH® Tagetik >
Design > open form >
Matrix > Transactional form editor
- Select Use Transactional form editor to enable the use of a data entry window for transactional form row details.
- Select the desired row management buttons.
- Select the desired height and width of the window.
- Click Add tab to add a tab to the window and enter a name.
- Set the desired number of rows and columns.
- To associate a column with the template and define its position, click the Row/column filters tab and select the desired column filter.
- In the properties table, click
next to the Transactional form editor and select the tab with which to associated the column data. - In Column and Row, set the coordinates at which to position the data.
- (Optional) In Filled columns, set the number of columns after the defined column in which to show the values of the selected column.
- (Optional) In Label space, define the desired percentage dimension with which to view the column in the data entry window.
- Repeat steps 8 to 11 for every desired column filter.
- To see a preview of the details window, click Preview.
- Click OK.
