Create a transactional form

Forms management tile > Elements

  1. Click , a new row will appear in the table of forms.
  2. In the Attributes tab, insert a code and a description for the form.
  3. In Input type, define the types of data managed by the form.
  4. In the Input properties section, select the desired data entry options for the form.
  5. (Optional) in the ETL section, to activate the (manual or automatic) loading of data onto the data tables or onto specific dimensions tables, select the following:
  6. In Job, select the desired ETL routine.
  7. In Period length, select the mode in which the data should be saved on the target tables.
  8. Click Enable loading

Note: this field is only valid for old forms created from the old flex interface, which has been discontinued. If enabled on a new form, it deactivates the field that allows you to relate an ETL job to the form.

  1. In the Relationships tab, click in an empty field and select a group.
  2. Click Save.

Create the form columns

Forms management tile > Elements > Form > select transactional from > (Attributes tab) Definition

  1. Click : a new row will appear.
  2. In column #, enter the column's unique identification number.
  3. In Description, insert the text you want as the column header.
  4. In Field, select the data to be associated with the column. If the data type is not shown, type it manually to search for it (e.g. amount, text).
  5. In Input type, select the desired input rule.
  6. (Optional) In Dictionary, select the desired dictionary filter.
  7. (Optional) In Default value/Formula, insert a default value which, in data entry, the system associates with the column data, or insert the formula to be used to determine the default value to be inserted in the column.
  8. (Optional) In Sorting, insert the sorting method for the form columns.
  9. (Optional) In Initial filter, select the type of filter to be applied to the column when the form is opened.
  10. (Optional) In Attributes, select the desired attributes for the chosen data.
  11. Click Save.

Note: in transactional forms with Input type set to Data only, the following columns are mandatory: Scenario, Period, Entity, Account, Category, Custom dimension 1... 5 (if managed), Currency, Original currency, Amount, Original currency amount. The absence of these columns is only highlighted in the data entry step.

Configuring column attributes

Forms management tile > Elements > Form > select transactional form > (Attributes tab) Definition > select column > > Details

  1. In Properties, select the desired type of attribute.
  2. In Value, defined whether the desired value for the attribute must be selected from a list of values proposed based on the "Property", if the attributes are predefined, or whether it must be inserted by the manually by the user (YES).

Configuring a dictionary filter

Forms management tile > Elements > Form > Transactional Form Dictionaries

Forms management tile > Elements > select form > > Transactional Form Dictionaries

  1. In Code, insert a code for the dictionary filter.
  2. In Description, insert a description for the dictionary filter.
  3. In Dictionary type, select the desired type of dictionary filter.
  4. If... Then...
    Dictionary type is set to Dictionary by Entity in Elements, select the entities that you want to relate to that dictionary filter.
    Dictionary type is set to Dictionary independent of Entity in Elements, select the desired elements as values of the dictionary filter.
    Dictionary type is set to Predefined dimension in Dimension, select the desired entity, account, custom dimension or category.
    Dictionary type is set to SQL Query in Elements selection query, insert the SQL selection query for the values of the dictionary filter.
  5. (Optional) In Attributes, insert up to 5 custom attributes to be shown in data entry next to the column with which the dictionary filter is associated, to supplement the relative information.
  6. Click Save.

Define dictionary elements manually

Forms management tile > Elements > select form > > Transactional Form Dictionaries

  1. Select the desired dictionary, then click Elements.
  2. Insert a code and description for the element.
  3. (Optional) Repeat steps 1 to 3 for every desired element of the dictionary filter.
  4. Click Save.
