Defining Tagetik styles

Introduction

Defining a Tagetik style involves several levels of configuration, to be carried out in the order indicated below

Create a style sheet

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Tagetik style

  1. Click . A row will appear in the list of Tagetik styles.
  2. Insert a code and a description for the Tagetik style.
  3. In the list, select the desired operational properties.
  4. Click .

Create a style

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Tagetik style > Definition

  1. Click . The Styles window will open.
  2. Insert a name for the style.
  3. Select one or several elements to be defined in the style being created.

Note: to optimally manage Tagetik styles and correctly apply them in web forms, it is advisable to create one style for every element to be formatted. 4. Click Format...: Excel’s Format Cells window will open. 5. Set the formatting of the elements selected in step 3 in the relative tab in the window and click OK. 6. In the Styles window, click OK.

Create styles for index sheets

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Tagetik style > Definition

  1. Click Open index styles: the styles for index sheets will appear in the list of Defined styles.
  2. Select the desired style
  3. To change it, click : the Styles window will open.

Note: styles can be renamed 4. Click Format...: Excel’s Format Cells window will open. 5. Set the formatting of the elements selected in step 3 in the relative tab in the window and click OK. 6. In the Styles window, click OK.

Relate styles to matrix elements

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Tagetik style > Definition > Style to use tab

  1. In the hierarchy of matrix elements, select the desired element.
  2. In the list of styles, select the desired style.

Note: the style related to the element is also applied to any nested elements, if possible and if no style has been associated with them. The sections to which the style is related are shown in bold. 3. Click to create the relationship. 4. (Optional, if a style has been related to a row/column element) Select the leading option and/or the trailing option to apply the style to the first or last row/column of the matrix, respectively. 5. (Optional) To make the application of the style conditional, click and insert the desired parametric text in the Cell Fields Wizard. Alternatively, use the predefined functions present in the left-hand column (see Inserting text with parametric elements). 6. Click OK and close the Styles window.

Set the prevailing formatting type

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Tagetik style > Definition > Style to use tab

In Prevailing formatting type, select the option to be applied if several styles are defined on rows and columns.
