Invoice IC matching
Introduction¶
Limiting the IC matching process to the relationship between entities may not be sufficient. Therefore, it may be necessary to work at a more detailed level, managing certain additional information such as the date and invoice number.
In such cases, it is useful to have a tool that simplifies the process of invoice matching between the IC declarations of an entity and the declarations of a counterparty on the basis of information related to the invoice. A dedicated report allows you to check the related and unrelated IC declarations; see Invoice matching report.
Activate invoice matching
To activate the invoice matching, you have to:
- Select the Invoice matching option in the Matching tab for the desired logics; see IC Matching and Elimination Logics tab.
- Active the collection of additional information for IC declarations (see the ).

IMPORTANT: the matching logic must have primary accounts and dependent accounts.
Run IC matching by invoice
Once the additional information on the invoice has been collected, it is possible to run the matching data processing.
Processes tile > select process > Contributor > Detail summary tab > (Actions) IC Cockpit
Navbar > Processes & Workflows > Process > select process > Contributor > Detail summary tab > (Actions) IC Cockpit
Processes tile > select process > Consolidator > Detail summary tab > (Actions) IC Cockpit
Navbar > Processes & Workflows > Process > select process > Consolidator > Detail summary tab > (Actions) IC Cockpit
from a workflow task > select task that requires the running of the IC cockpit > Run
- From the IC matching cockpit, select the desired relationships.
- Click > IC
matching by invoice - Data processing. See IC matching by invoice.
The data processing automatically feeds the Invoice Matching Number field of the IC declarations of both Entities involved in the matching logic.
Manually match an IC declaration by invoice
In some cases, automatic matching between IC declarations is not possible. This happens, for example, if an entity has inserted the booking date instead of the invoice date.
IC cockpit > balancing indicator of an amount > Edit IC/Show IC
- Select the desired declaration.
- In the Edit IC panel, insert the same number used in the counterparty entity’s IC declaration in the Invoice matching number field.
Note: Invoice matching numbers generated by the system can be edited, but the number inserted manually cannot start with $.
Interactions on the IC matching process
The invoice matching process does not affect the general IC matching process. This means that you can declare that the IC insertion is complete, or submit the relationships even if not all of the IC declarations are balanced. The insertion of additional fields does changes nothing, neither at the IC matching cockpit level nor at the elimination journal level.
While the invoice matching process is influenced by the IC matching process, the matching data processing can only be run before the account is ready for submission (one entity with a BLUE traffic light, another entity with a YELLOW traffic light).
