Configure users in the Repository

Add a user manually

There are several ways that user lists can be added to CCH Tagetik. This procedure explains how to add them manually to the user list in the Repository.

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

  1. Click : a new row will appear in the table.
  2. In the Attributes tab, enter the user’s personal details.
  3. In the Security tab, if necessary, restrict the period for which the login credentials are valid and any reference and area profile users to be associated.

Authorise a user to work on an application database

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

Repository > Users & Roles > Users/Roles mapping

  1. Select the desired user.
  2. Click > Associate Users/Roles: the relationship page opens for the selected user.
  3. Click : a new row will appear in the table.
  4. In the Attributes tab, select the database for which access is to be authorised, and the role that the user can perform on it.
  5. If useful, set a period of validity for this authorisation.
  6. Set the type of access restrictions for the selected database.

Create an area profile user

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

  1. Click : a new row will appear in the table.
  2. In the Attributes tab, enter the dummy user details.
  3. In the Security tab, in Reference users and area profile, select Area profile.
  4. In Max number of area users, set the maximum number of users that can be associated with this profile. If set to zero, there are no limits on the number of users that can belong to the area.

View the roles associated with a user

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

Repository > Users & Roles > Users/Roles mapping

  1. Select the desired user.
  2. Click > Users/Roles mapping: the roles associated with each database to which the user has access are indicated in Role.

Disconnect the users from the database.

Repository > Monitor > Connected Users

  1. Select the user to disconnect.
  2. Click > Disconnect the selected users: the user is immediately disconnected from the database.

Allocate a temporary password to a user

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

  1. Select the desired user.
  2. Click > Change Password and enter a password: this is the user’s temporary password.
  3. In the Security tab, select the Password to change: on next login, the selected user must choose a new password.

Change a user’s password

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

  1. Select the user whose password is to be changed.
  2. Click > Change Password and enter the new password.

Unlock access for a user

This procedure makes it possible to unlock access for users who have been locked manually by the administrator or automatically by CCH Tagetik.

Repository > Users & Roles > Users

  1. Select the locked user.
  2. In the Security tab, deselect Locked temporarily and click Save. The user can now access all databases on which they are authorised to work.
