Purpose of the page¶
This page makes it possible to define rules related to the following aspects:
- password validity over time
- conditions for the length and format of accepted passwords
- preventing reuse of the same password on expiry
- maximum number of times a user can enter an incorrect password before being locked

Please find below the most important fields.

| Validity and Expiration notifications | |
| Validity days | Password duration 0 = no expiry |
| Days left before password expires | Determines how many days in advance a user should be notified of password expiry. 0 = no warning email |
| Days user locked after password expiration | Indicates the number of days for which the user is locked after password expiry. IMPORTANT: Only the system administrator can remove this lock. |
