Common Forecast Changes

A CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning deployment typically involves the creation of all of the necessary forecasts for your department or company. Following deployment, there are periodic and maintenance changes forecast owners perform to update and improve forecast records.

The most common forecast changes are as follows:

Maintenance Changes

Maintenance Change	Description
Manual update of historical data	Many implementations use external data sources to update historical data automatically. Other implementations require forecast owners to update their historical data manually. See Add Historical Data to Records.
Use of comparable data	In cases where you want to create a forecast for a product or service that lacks the necessary historical data, you can use the historical data from comparable products and services as supplemental historical data for your forecast. Adjustments and overrides	Business changes often require owners to update forecasts with adjustments such as product promotions. Easily apply forecast overrides to evaluate possible changes in sales volumes using CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning to a record or entire group of records. See Model Events.
Specific record type changes	Different CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning record types require different levels of maintenance. For example, a CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning deployment might use a CAGR record to include the gross domestic product (GDP) for the United States. If the U.S. Department of Commerce revises the GDP, the CAGR record needs to be revised as well. Alternatively, an owner might have to revise a Promotion record because of a change to the ending date of a promotion. See Record Types in CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning.
