On-the-fly conversion
On-the-fly conversion is a functionality that can also be applied to multidimensional matrices, and specifically to matrices that refer to analytical datasets that have currency as a dimension.
To be able to use this function, the Make the Forms editable for currency conversion on the fly option must be selected (Home page - Adminis
trator > Setup & Admin > Settings > Forms tab > Data Entry Section).Navigation panel
> Settings > Form tab > Data Entry section) > View Settings window.
If, in the data entry phase, a change is applied to the matrix on the fly via the combination of the currency and measure filters, all of the matrix cells on which a single currency type is defined will be editable. In the presence of several filters with different currencies, the cells will not be editable.
For more details on changes in matrices with Analytical Workspace data, see Matrix filter properties table.
For more details on setting up on-the-fly conversion, see Currency conversion algorithm.
IMPORTANT: On-the-fly conversion is not supported on a transactional matrix referencing datasets.
IMPORTANT: On-the-fly conversion is not supported on a multidimensional matrix when an analytical dataset with non-incremental saving is used along with the Currency dimension defined as a form parameter.
IMPORTANT: On-the-fly conversion does not support the following FX rate types: Previous Final FX rate and Historical FX rate
