CFP Data processing - Preliminary checks

Before proceeding with the real “data processing”, the system performs preliminary checks to verify that:

  • the “general” setup is correct and complete
  • all of the necessary conditions for the performance of every enabled data process are met.

In particular, the system checks that:

  • for the data-processing process to be performed:
  • all original scenarios exist, from the calculation start data up to the estimate end date (blocking error).
  • only in the case of budgets, the original scenario exists from the previous year to the process calculation start date (blocking error)
  • the scenarios associated with the process are active and visible to the user
  • the original scenarios associated with the process are linked to one another in a consistent manner or the “previous scenario” and “following scenario” fields are defined in a consistent manner
  • there is no overlapping between the dates of the process scenarios (blocking error. The system returns a “The Period start and Period end dates are overlapping” error)
  • in the setup for the carry forward rules, the category used by the cash flow planning module has the “Exclude carry forwards” option disabled (blocking error)
  • the entities to run must be present in the process’s “execution plan” (blocking error)
  • in the general cash flow planning rule related to the process to be performed, the following accounts must be defined:
  • Debit FX rate difference account for revaluations (blocking error: “Define the FX rate difference debit account for revaluations in the generic rules of the Cash Flow Planning”)
  • Credit FX rate difference account for revaluations (“Define the FX rate difference credit account for revaluations in the generic rules of the Cash Flow Planning” blocking error
  • in the carry forward ruled related to the process, the account that the system uses to perform net result target entries is defined (blocking error: “Define the Reserve net result reclassification account in the carry forward rules”)
  • the following net result accounts are defined:
  • P&L Account net result (blocking error: “Define the "P&L net result" account in the Result accounts”)
  • Balance Sheet net result (blocking error: “Define the "Balance Sheet net result" account in the result accounts”)
  • Balance sheet net result: current year net result variation (blocking error: “Define the Balance sheet net result variation account in the result accounts”)
  • all of the balance sheet variation accounts present in the process to be performed must be variations of a standard account (blocking error: “It is not a variation of any normal account”)
  • for every balance sheet account with the “End-of-period FX rate evaluation” option enabled, in the process control group in which that account is the parent, there must be a child in which the FX rate difference is indicated (blocking error: “In the Parent control group a child account, whose FX rate difference is specified, must exist”)
  • the FX rates must exist for all the currencies used in the planning for all processed scenarios/periods; they must also be present for the initial balance sheet scenario/period (blocking error: “FX rate is missing”)
  • all of the rate types / currencies referred to in the sections, L/T financing and stocks must have an associated value for all of the calculation’s scenarios/periods (blocking error: “The Interest rates is missing”)
  • all of the conditions necessary for the performance of every enabled data process are met. The checks performed for every data process are:
  • Create entries:
  • if there are events related to assets in progress, the asset class defined for the asset header must have the “assets variation account: debit” and the “assets variation account: credit” defined (blocking error)
  • if there are events related to down payments on receivables, the asset class defined for the asset header must have the “receivable variation down payment account: debit” and the “receivable variation down payment account: credit” defined (blocking error: “Define the "Receivable variation down payment Account: debit" and "Receivable variation down payment Account: credit" for the Assets class of the current asset”)
  • if there are events related to down payments on payables, the asset class defined for the asset header must have the “payable variation down payment account: debit” and the “receivable variation down payment account: credit” defined (blocking error: “Define the “Payable variation down payment Account: debit" and “Payable variation down payment Account: credit" for the Assets class of the current asset”)
  • if there are events related to the sale of assets, the asset class defined for the asset header must have the “capital loss account” and the “capital gain account” defined (blocking error: “Define the “Capital gain account” and “Capital loss account” for the Assets class of the current asset”)
  • for every leasing contract, verify that the lease fee, lease company payable, leasing accrual, leasing deferred and leasing interest accounts are defined for the asset class of the asset in question (“blocking error: Define the Leasing fee accounts, Leasing entity debt accounts, Leasing accrual accounts, Leasing deferred accounts and Leasing interest accounts for the Assets class of the current asset”)
  • entries that are inserted manually into the “indirect tax account” accounts must be made in the currency of the indirect tax policy (blocking error: “The data must be entered in the currency of the tax policy”)
  • entries that are inserted manually into the “tax fund” accounts must be made in the currency in which the entity operates (blocking error: “The data must be inserted in the Entity Currency”)
  • Indirect taxes calculation:
  • the “Indirect tax account: debit billing variation” must be a variation of the Indirect tax account (blocking error: “Debit billing variation account must be a variation of the Indirect tax account”)
  • the “Indirect tax account: credit billing variation” must be a variation of the Indirect tax account (blocking error: “Credit billing variation account must be a variation of the Indirect tax account”)
  • the “Indirect tax account: debit settlement variation” must be a variation of the Indirect tax account (blocking error: “Debit settlement variation account must be a variation of the Indirect tax account”)
  • the “Indirect tax account: credit settlement variation” must be a variation of the Indirect tax account (blocking error: “Credit settlement variation account must be a variation of the Indirect tax account”)
  • the “VAT account: transitory variation” must be a variation of the transitory account (blocking error: “‘Transitory account: billing variation’ must be a variation of the transitory account”)
  • the “Transitory account: invoicing variation” must be a variation of the transitory account (blocking error: “‘Transitory account: billing variation’ must be a variation of the transitory account”)
  • entries that are inserted manually into the “VAT” accounts must be made in the currency in which the entity operates (blocking error: “The entries that are inserted manually in Indirect taxes accounts must be inserted using the Entity's currency”)
  • for indirect tax policies, with the group indirect taxes calculation activated, the accounts used for the fiscal policy’s entries must be IC (“The account used in the group indirect tax policies must be an IC account” blocking error)

  • Financial policy

  • if, in the process rules, the “Calculation of the financial policy for Ctp entity” is active, then there must not be any section with the Cash Pooling flag active (blocking error: “No section with an active Cash Pooling flag should exist, if the financial policy is defined for the Ctp entity in the process”)
  • for every section, the “Primary account: Debit variation account for section shift” must be a variation of the primary account (blocking error: “Primary account: Debit variation account for section shift" must be a variation of the primary account”)

  • if the notional category is defined in the process rules, for sections with the “Cash flow calculation” option active the category on which to generate the notional cash flows on the section or process rules must exist (blocking error: “Specify the category on which to generate the other cash flows (generic rules of the process / financial policy sections)”)

  • Direct taxes calculation

  • for all entities for which it is necessary to calculate direct taxes, the fiscal policy must be defined (in the list of entities)
