Area profile users

The "Area Profile Users" tab allows you to define all the possible available area profiles from which the user can inherit the associated restrictions. It is also possible to assign one or more area profiles to the reference users. In this case, users linked to those reference users will also automatically inherit the area profiles associated with them.

The "Area Profile Users" tab is only visible if one or both of the following flags are enabled for the user:

  • Reference user for other users
  • Inherit Area profile from another user

In the "Attributes" tab, you can use the "Area" field to select the user who will act as the area profile for the selected user. If the selected user:

  • is not already listed in the "Area Profile User" tab
  • is not included in the list of area profiles defined for the reference user of the selected user

It is then automatically added to the list in the "Area Profile Users" tab.

IMPORTANT: If a reference user has been configured for the user and that reference user has their own area profile, then the area profile is automatically inherited by the selected user. In this case, the inherited area profile does not appear in the "Area Profile Users" tab, as it is derived directly from the reference user and not from a specific configuration for the user being edited.

IMPORTANT: If function code U_R0000 is active and the "Inherit Area profile from another user" option is enabled for the user, the area profile currently in use can be changed via a checkbox in the top bar of the application.

This checkbox displays the area profile currently in use. By opening it, the user can choose a different area profile by selecting one of the following:

  • their own available area profiles
  • the area profiles of all their reference users

Once a new area profile has been selected, the system deploys the user rights by updating the user’s settings with the newly selected profile.

At the end of the operation, the user is redirected to the home page.
