Open a form for navigation

Excel > CCH® Tagetik > Navigation

  1. In the left-hand panel, select the desired form.
  2. Double click: the form will open, or if parameters were set when the form was designed, the Parameters window will open.

For details on how to work in the Parameters window, see Define form parameters.

Note: if the user tries to reopen a form, the system will repropose the parameters inserted when it was last accessed.

Define form parameters

  1. Open the form (Open a form for navigation).
  2. For each desired parameter, so as follows;
If you want... Then...
select a single element type the code of the desired dimension or click and select it from the list that appears.
select several items of a dimension 1. Click . 2. Hold CTRL and select the desired items from the tree. 3. Click : the selected elements will be added to the list of elements to be used. 4. Click OK to confirm.
3. Click OK to confirm: the form will open with the desired data.

Edit the value of the parameters of an open form

  1. Open the form (Open a form for navigation).
  2. Set the desired run parameters.
  3. While still in Navigation, click : the Predefined filters tab will open in the left-hand panel with the parameters currently set.
  4. Edit the value of the desired parameters.
  5. Click in the left-hand panel or in Navigation to see the form with the updated data.

Edit the value of parameters using a slicer

  1. Open the form, setting the desired run parameters (Open a form for navigation).
  2. Click in the cell with the slicer.
  3. Select the desired dimension.
  4. Click in the left-hand panel or in Navigation to see the form with the updated data.

Enable drill down

  1. Open the form in Design mode (see Open a form in Design mode).
  2. Click : the Form options window will open.
  3. Select the Other options tab and do as follows:
If you want to enable drill down... Then...
on the entire form, select Enable Drill down.
on the dimensions used, select Allow drill down only on used dimensions.
4. Click OK.

Disable drill down

  1. Open the form in Design mode (see Open a form in Design mode).
  2. Click : the Form options window will open.
  3. Select the Other options tab and do as follows:
If you want to disable drill down... Then...
on the entire form, deselect Enable Drill down.
on the unused dimensions, select Allow drill down only on used dimensions.
4. Click OK.

Run the drill down

  1. Open the form in navigation mode (Open a form for navigation).
  2. Do as follows:
If you want to run the drill down for... Then...
a cell double click the desired cell. Alternatively, select the cell, click and .
a row double click the header of the desired row. Alternatively, select the cell, click and .
a column double click the header of the desired column. Alternatively, select the column and click and .
3. Set the desired dimensions.
4. Click .

Create a pivot table

  1. Open the form (Open a form for navigation).
  2. Position the cursor over the matrix whose data you want to see.
  3. Click : the pivot table will open in a new spreadsheet.
  4. If useful, reorder the data using various filters.
