Unlink a document part

After linking a document part using the Add function in the outline of an open document, the user can unlink the document using the dedicated option via the three dots visible to the right of that document.

Then the document is unlinked, it becomes onlylinked but does not lose the features of a multilinked document with the chain icon. To change the status of the document, you must proceed with the Detach step.

Unlink a document part

Word Add-in > CCH® Tagetik Disclosure Ribbon bar > Documents management > Outline > > Unlink

  1. Open a document root from the Library: ribbon bar > File > Open > click on the document x
  2. Double click on the document x in the outline with the document closed
  3. Click Outline from the ribbon, the Document outline - document x panel will open
  4. Click on the three dots of the previously linked document part in the outline
  5. Click Unlink
  6. The system will show a “completed successfully” message
  7. And the document part will no longer be visible below the outline of the document where it was located
  8. Lastly, the content control with all the automatically visible content will no longer be shown

Note. unlinking a multilinked document means that it will only be contained under one outline but will keep the Multilinked icon. The user can choose whether to keep this status or run a detach.
