Data processing
CCH Tagetik provides the user with several tools to perform data processing.
There are usually two types of data processing to be performed in a CPM system:
Application data processing¶
Data processing operating on data without being specifically linked to a business process:
Sono :
Carry forward: Carry Forward data processing on original and consolidation scenarios allows the user to reopen initial balances and journal entries into a new fiscal year based on the closed year. (see Carry Forward)
"Multi-Dimensional Script" calculation logics : Complex "Multi-Dimensional Script" calculation logics (see "Multi-Dimensional Script" calculation logics)
Calculation logics: they compute specific information derived from existing data in the system (see Calculation Logics)
Break back : allows data entry via forms at the node level of aggregation structures defined on Entity, account, and custom dimensions, or only on custom dimensions (see Breack back)
Financial statement templates: a Financial statement template is an aggregation structure of accounts or customised dimensions used to create classic financial reporting templates but also KPIs and other indices useful for reporting. (see Financial statement templates)
Calculations on protected cell forms: a formula is defined on the matrix element. Its result cannot be edited by the user, but is saved to the database when the form is saved. (see Editability)
Currency conversion: the system is able to convert amounts from one currency into another (see Currency)
Algebraic operations: allow performing simple operations (e.g. add, subtract, etc.) by combining data from several scenarios. (see Algebraic Operations)
ETL : The Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading engine can perform filtering, control, data enrichment operations (see ETL Routine - Transformation)
DTP: a Data Transformation Package (DTP) represents a group of activities to be executed for a Data Transformation workflow task. (see Data Transformation Package (DTP))
Virtual datasets: Virtual datasets can contain fields calculated according to formulas defined by the user.(see Virtual datasets)
Business process-specific data processing¶
Data processing based on built-in logics with specific functionality for business processes such as:
Consolidation: "The various consolidation processes allow the transfer of amounts from the individual Entity's financial statements through successive stages, culminating in the consolidated data (see Consolidated financial statements)
Planning see :
- Forecast Models: allow a forecast scenario to be populated with a combination of actual and other forecast data (see Forecast Model
- Cash flow planning: enables financial planning with "what if" analyses on different simulation scenarios (seeCash Flow Planning
- Supply Chain Planning: allows the creation of hypothetical scenarios and simulations for SCP and CPM (seeScenario Planning)
- Depreciation: (see Asset depreciation
- Spreading: Enables calculation of the depreciation plan for new investments, organized by tax category. (see IC Spreading
Financial close: allows you to quickly close individual financial statements and begin the consolidation process (see Financial close )
Target Matching : enables the assignment of a specific value to the data (see Impose Amount )
Allocations: data is allocated based on percentages derived from predefined rules (see Allocations)
Allocations on DTP: allows an amount originally present on a single item to be spread over several items, do as to detail it (see Analytical Allocations)
