Taxonomy
In Tagetik, the taxonomy represents the set of items, tuples and MD scenarios (multidimensional, also referred to as sub-contexts). These scenarios are used when creating contexts by combining them with the period and entity information.
In the case of complex taxonomies, such as EBA and EIOPA taxonomies, that include the management of several entrypoints, it is necessary to define a taxonomy code for each entrypoint to be reported. For example: the taxonomy EBA 2.4.1.1 includes the modules FINREP_IND_GAAP, FINREP_IND_IFRS, FINREP_CON_GAAP, FINREP_CON_IFRS, ecc. For each module it is necessary to define a different taxonomy code.

Tagetik can automatically import from specific files any information related to items and MD contexts necessary for the production of XBRL files. Please see import taxonomy and contexts.
The only manual parametrization related to the taxonomy consists in the insertion of prefixes.
Each element of the taxonomy has an "Universal Resource Identifier" (URI) that identifies the organization that maintains the definition of each element: this URI is named namaspace. For instance, in the taxonomy EIOPA, the namespaces starts by http://eiopa.europa.eu/: in particular, an element of the AM domain has the namespace http://eiopa.europa.eu/xbrl/s2c/dict/dom/AM.
The prefix (or namespace prefix) is a short sequence that indicates a namespace. In the example shown above, the prefix for the namespace is S2C_AM.
